Chapter 132: Positivity is hard to find

Start from the beginning

"I said that you can talk to us whenever you need, and you did. If you didn't wake me, who knows what could have happened if you would have stayed in your room." Aizawa replied as he tried to look on the bright side. I just nodded my head since I wasn't in the mood to argue.

About ten minutes later the doctor and a nurse entered my hospital room. The doctor carried a few papers while the nurse carried a white plastic box. The doctor stood where everyone could see him as he introduced himself before explaining, "Y/N has heart arrhythmia, which means that she has an irregular heartbeat. There are a couple different types, like if someone were to have either a slow or fast heartbeat. In her case it's too fast, which is called Tachycardia" He then turned towards me, "When we took the CT scan of your heart, we also took a scan of your brain since that sometimes has to do with the irregular heartbeat." He went through a file of papers and pulled out what looked like a brain scan as he went on explaining, "As you can see, there are more blue areas than what should normally be there. Do you know that is?" I shook my head. "It means that you have depression, and for how much shown up on the scan, it shows that it's quite severe." He tucked the paper back in the file as he said, "Anorexia also contributes to heart arrhythmia. Since you're underweight, that also has contributed to it. It'd be for the best if you were to eat more, but not all at once when your body will reject it." He situated the folder he was holding onto as he asked, "Do you have anxiety or anything like that?"

My face was beat red since he was talking of things that only I know and things that I don't like talking about as freely as he was. I felt my chest start to hurt even more as my heart began to beat faster, "Y-yeah."

The nurse took notice of my increased heart rate and got the doctor's attention. Before I knew it, I was shaking and my chest began to hurt as bad as it did earlier during the night before. The nurse and doctor tried to calm me and to get my heart rate back down to what the normal was for me. Since my heart was beating too fast, it made me start to breath faster too. It got to the point that I began to cough viciously while my nose began to bleed. I was clutching to my chest so tight that I didn't bother to contend with the blood running from my nose. After a long thirty seconds my eyes began to water so bad that I couldn't see.

Once the doctor and nurse got me calmed down, they allowed Aizawa, Yamada and Toshinori to come back into the room since the nurse had them leave for the time being while I was in the middle of an episode. Once everything was calmed down, I noticed that this little flat, cube-like shape was stuck to my chest, off to my left a little and just a little below my collarbone. I poked at it before the nurse stopped me as the doctor began to explain once again.

"So, I take it that you do have anorexia, anxiety, and depression, which those three things can lead to an irregular heartbeat. With those three combined, it's almost 100% that the person will have heart disease like what you have. The thing that the nurse stopped you from touching is a heart monitor. You'll have to wear it for a month and once that month is up, it will be decided then if you'll have to wear another one for a month or so longer; that is if we don't get the information that we need." He then handed me a phone-like device. "This is the transmitter for the monitor. Keep this with you at all times if you can."

"Wh-what about hero duty?" I asked.

"You'll have to be really careful to not push yourself. If you feel like your chest is starting to hurt, stop and take a break to try and get your heart back to its normal pace. That reminds me, your resting heart rate is faster than what it's actually supposed to be." the doctor answered.

"What should we do if something like this happens again? Do we bring her back here?" Aizawa asked.

"You can, but you can also try and calm her. It's up to you since you know her more if you want to calm her yourself; actually, she may be better alone to calm herself down with no one around." They all nodded their head before the doctor asked, "Any other questions?" There was silence. "Alright, well, I'd like for Y/N to see a physiologist before seeing a therapist to try and recover from the severe depression that she has. Of course, I'm not forcing it upon her since most of the time when someone is forced into something like that, it tends to take a toll on the person and worsen their state. Also, try to eat more to get back to a healthy weight. Other than that, if you have questions about anything, please contact me at my e-mail or the phone number at the bottom of this paper." He then handed a couple papers to Yamada since he was the closest. "Well then, that seems to be all. You're free to leave whenever you feel you're ready." he said with a smile before adding, "Goodbye; see you in a month Y/N."
