Chapter 128: Happy for once

Start from the beginning

"Is Midoriya coming yet?" Jiro asked as she passed me to get to the microphone.

I stopped warming up, "Yeah, he should be here soon."

She didn't answer me as she plugged in her bass guitar. I was to her left, so I was sort of off to the side, almost off stage. She took notice that I was off to the side too far. "Y/N, come closer to the center, no one will see you if you're that far to the side." I reluctantly walked a little closer. "Perfect." there was a pause, "All warmed up?"

"Yep, I'm more than ready to do this." I said with the most confidence I have ever had, and that's not much.

A few minutes later Midoriya finally arrived and took his place. Once everyone and everything were in their places, the curtains were then pulled back and we began our lively paced song. Since I had the part memorized so well, my fingers moved on their own rather than me paying attention to them. I looked out to the crowd, past the blinding lights, and noticed that Mirio was holding Eri up so she could see past all of the people in front of them. I couldn't help but smile upon seeing that she too was smiling. If she was smiling, you knew that it was worth smiling over. I then brought my attention back to us performing. I started to feel something that felt odd. I didn't really know what the feeling quite was, but I couldn't help but smile even bigger. The more that I thought of it, I thought that the feeling was joy, or rather that I was having fun.

After coming to that realization, I began moving about in the main area where I was positioned. I was becoming one with the music by moving and jumping about. I could tell that everyone was having fun as well. I looked back out to the crowd with the wide smile that I was wearing from the near first time that I was actually enjoying myself. This time I noticed that both Mic and Aizawa were in the near back. I began to wonder if I should tone it down, but instead I threw that out of mind and went on with having the time of my life. It was actually the very first time that I wished that it never ended.

When it was sadly done and over with, I began to help with packing things away and hauling them back to wherever they're supposed to go back to. Some people helped carry things while I, for the most part, used the levitation quirk again to carry the equipment. Once I dropped off the stuff, I went back to the building to help clean up the ice chunks that we left from Todoroki using his quirk during the little concert. I then went about the rest of the day going to different classes events. I suppose it was sort of fun, but if I were to compare it to performing, everything was boring as ever. At the end of the day, I joined Mirio and Aizawa when they brought Eri back to the hospital. As soon as I joined them, Eri right away let go of Mirio's hand and held mine before it could register in my head what she did.

"It was so cool! You were right!" Eri said happily.

I looked down to her with a warm smile, "Was it? I liked playing the bass guitar, so I suppose it was better than hiding backstage."

"You looked like you were having a lot of fun! I had a lot of fun as well out in the crowd!" Mirio said happily with a smile.

I gave a nervous chuckle, "Yeah, I suppose I was having a little fun, and I'm glad you had fun too."

As we walked to the hospital, Eri began skipping every once in a while as she hummed and smiled. I couldn't help but give a little smile too upon seeing her happiness. When we brought her back to her hospital room and Mirio started back in this dorm, Aizawa and I then began to go back to the apartment.

"Would you like me to teleport us back to the apartment?" I asked as we exited the hospital's front doors.

He looked up to the sky before looking back down and beginning down the sidewalk, "We'll take the train instead...it's nice out."
