Chapter 126: Set up

Start from the beginning

"I'll try it..." she then tried to open it before handing it to me. I took it with a smile and opened it for her before handing it back to her. "Thank you."

I then opened mine and began to eat it as she smelt hers, not sure if she should eat it or not. Once she saw that I was enjoying mine, she then tried a taste. "How do you like it? It's not too big but it's something."

"I like it...do you have more?" she asked quietly.

I smiled, "No, I don't, sorry. Aizawa only gave me two."

"Okay..." she said quietly again.

Once I finished the pouch that I was consuming, I tossed it in the garbage can that was next to the bench that we were sitting on. "I'm sure that you'll probably get something to eat at the school later on in the day."

"What are we going to eat then?" she asked.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I'm not sure...Mirio will be with you all day today, so he'll probably know."

She looked at me with worry, "Aren't you going to be with me?"

"If you want I can spend my free time with you two." I said.

She nodded her head, "Yeah."

"Alright, sounds good to me."

Once she finished eating, I suggested that we were to get going again if we were to ever make it to the school. As we walked through crowds, she held on tighter to my hand, which I too held on tighter. It was an odd feeling having someone hold my hand for that long, let alone at all. I was also surprised how I hadn't lost my cool yet since I'm not the best with kids or that I even remotely like them, but I guess that it's an exception for Eri. Anyway, on our way to the school, we passed the mall that I tend to frequent when I have nothing better to do or if I need to pick up something. As we passed it, I could tell that it caught her attention.

"Have you been to a mall before?" I asked as we kept on walking.

She was looking back behind us at this point, "No...it's huge..."

"That it is..." I said as I was now looking out for her, being her eyes since she was still looking back. "Want to check it out sometime?"

She looked to me with excitement, "Yeah! Let's do that after the festival!"

"How about when you don't have to be in the hospital anymore." I suggested.

She didn't really like my idea, "But why?"

"Well..." I tried to quickly think of something, "the nurses wouldn't like you having too many things in your room, so it'd be easier if you were to check out the mall when you get discharged."

"Oh." She replied quietly before pausing, then adding in the same quiet tone, "I don't like it there."

I agreed, "I don't either."

"Why don't you like it?" she asked innocently.

I hummed as I thought of a reason that I could speak of, "Well, I don't like feeling like I'm a test subject, even though I'm not. It's also probably because I don't like being confined to a small area and having people come and go as they please."

"You've been in a hospital before for a while?"

"Yep." I answered simply.

She was hesitant to ask, "W-why?"

"I'm a hero; at least once a year a hero has to stay in a hospital due to something from being in the profession, but it's not as bad as it sounds." I explained.

"Why?"

"We heroes are alright from time to time to get hurt as long as those who we have to save are safe. We do everything in our power to save everyone, even if they are a villain." I added.

She was then silent for a while. "Why was I saved? So many people got hurt...and for what? I caused more trouble to be saved than to not be."

"That's not true; those who got hurt knew from the beginning of their hero career that something like that would happen. Again, it doesn't matter to us when we get hurt as long as the one who we are saving is alright." I tried to explain without getting too into it.

She then surprisingly changed the subject, "You seem too young to be a hero...so how do I know that you're not lying."

I gave the best kind smile I could do without showing my frightening one and said quietly as if it was a whisper, "I'm the youngest hero there is. I was there when you were saved. I was fighting alongside Midoriya- er well, you know him as Deku, I suppose."

She lit up once she heard his name, "Really?"

I nodded my head, "Yep."

"I wish I could have seen him fight rather than what I saw when I was on his back." she said.

I then added, "Yeah? He was super cool; punching bad guys in the face and punching through walls...it couldn't have gotten cooler than that. Though I'm sure you'll be able to see him during the festival at school. I bet Mirio will take you to see our classes' event."

"What are you doing?" she asked as she looked up to me.

I debated whether or not I should tell her. "It'll be a surprise."

"Okay." she said constantly as she walked alongside me, still holding my hand which felt like she was never going to let go.

After walking along the rest of the way to school, we talked about little things that she was curious about, like what other classes were doing for the festival. Once we made it to the school, Mirio was waiting at the front gates like Aizawa said he would.

"Hi, Y/N; Hello, Eri." Mirio greeted us with a smile and a wave as we walked closer.

When we met up with him, we then began walking in. I tried to get Eri to let go of my hand, "Alright, you'll be hanging out with him for today."

"You promise that you'll come and see me?" she asked before letting go.

"Of course." I promised.

I then gently pushed her so that she was now walking next to Mirio instead of me. "Alright now, I have to go and set up our event with my class. I'll see you later." Before teleporting to my class I said, "See you later, Mirio. Be sure to keep an eye on her."

"I won't let her out of my sight ever again!" he said happily.

I then gave a smile before teleporting. Once I arrived with the rest of my class, we were packing up things at the dorms and preparing to bring them to the area where we'll be setting up and be performing. I helped carry the heavy stuff since I was able to use a quirk, so in the end I was practically carrying mostly everything. I didn't mind though cause it meant that those who weren't carrying anything were able to set up smaller things in the building like props and other things that added to our plan. As we were walking along as a class, Mirio found us and introduced Eri to the class. Kirishima and Midoriya went up to her and were very happy to see that she was able to attend the festival even though it was closed to the public. As Eri was hiding behind Mirio, she noticed that I was levitating multiple large items in the air.

I walked up to her with a smile, which she then asked timidly, "Are you making those float?"

I looked to the side to look at an amp that was floating, "Yep, easier move things."

"Cool." she said as if she was in awe.

"I better be going before something happens and the quirk wears off. See ya." I said as I gave a wave and began towards that building again.

Everyone stayed and pretty much circled around her as they tried to talk to her. I knew that they shouldn't really do that since she was kinda frightened from what I could tell. Anyways, when I got to the building, I sat all the equipment down and sat on the floor as I waited for everyone else to arrive.
