8 | first it's your suitcase now its the freaking basket

Start from the beginning

"You could have gotten a push cart at least." Nox suggests. "Anyway, don't you have a shopping list?"

"Actually I came here straight from uni. I didn't really have the time to write down the stuff I needed." I explain. "Thanks for helping me." I proceed and gesture at the counter. "Please you should go first. It's the least I could do." Nox' face softens and shakes her head.

"No, it's cool. You were here first."

"I insist." I say and she gives in. Nox begins unloading her basket. I help her place all of her items on the counter and Axel just looks at us without saying a word. He gives me a sympathetic look and I smile politely then give him a slight nod as a silent 'thank you'.

"Uh, this is my brother Axel." Nox suddenly says. "Axel this is Jimin. He lives on apartment seven."

"You're our new neighbor." Axel says.

"Yeah." Okay, this is getting a little awkward.

Nox pays the cashier who places the groceries in plastic bags and Axel hurries to help her carry them.

"You guys need a lift?" I offer since this is the second time Nox helped me.

"We're cool." She replies simply grabs a bag. "I drove here."

"Oh okay," I mutter and place the items in the half wrecked basket on the cashier. "Thank you for giving me a hand though. I appreciate it."

Nox just nods and gives me a skeptical look. "Might take your offer some other time Apartment Seven." She says and with that, her and Axel exit the supermarket.

Nox

"I see what you did there Nox." My brother says flashing me an ear to ear grin.

When I finish loading the trunk with the groceries, I pull the door down and shut it. "Instead of smiling like an idiot over you could have helped me." I snap and he chuckles. I step inside the driver's seat and Axel circles around to sit next to me. I start the engine and carefully back the car out of the parking space.

"So what's up with you and Apartment Seven?" Axel asks still maintaining that irritating grin. "You into the guy?"

"Why would you even jump into that conclusion?" I throw and he laughs to himself. "He just moved here Axel."

"I mean you went out of your way to rescue that Chinese dude and—"

"He's Korean."

"Like there's a difference."

I roll my eyes out of annoyance. I know very well that he's purposely trying to get on my last nerve so that he hears what he so desperately wants to hear.

"You're being racist." I chime and he shrugs.

"See. You defended him again." He says and I tap my nails on the steering wheel.

"Do you want me to say that I'm into him?" I ask. "Or is it you that's interested?"

"I'm not gay." Axel replies.

"Says every man in the closet." I groan and he laughs again.

"I'm not Jason!" He says loudly.

"I never said you are." I proceed. "But the amount of time you two spend together lately is concerning. If you're into guys just tell me. It won't change the way I think of you."

"How sweet." Axel moons and I grab his hand.

"Of course sweetie." I say as sweetly as I can manage. "Whether you're gay or not won't change the fact that you're an annoying shit that I wanna punch in the face."
