*This time skip was brought to you by lazy authors who couldn't think of anything to fill up a few days and wanted to cut to the chase*

Roman didn't know what was happening to him. The feeling that pumped itself through his veins, corrupting his glittery self, was poisonous. Everything was dull - Patton's' smile, Logan's' confusion to slang words and even Roman's' persona.

Virgil seemed fine though; if anything he seemed happier and brighter, more alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic. Even his sarcastic remarks were funny, and his monotone voice lit up the dark, dark trees, and the suffocating, melancholy atmosphere.

It was as if Patton and Virgil swapped places overnight. It was alarming and uncomfortable.

"...And that's why we're feeling like this." Virgil finished speaking, snapping Roman back to reality. "Any questions?"

Patton and Logan shook their heads, and Roman raised his hand.

"What is it, Princey?" Virgil asked, leaning against a tree with his usual smirk.

Roman cleared his throat awkwardly. "What were you talking about?"

Virgil sighed, stepping away from the tree. "If you stop pitying yourself in a dramatic fashion, I'll tell you. My castle is less than ten days away roughly. The aura creates a reverse effect on the people who near it, and the effect spreads to the farthest borders of our land and only seriously affects you when you're this close to it or closer. I'm used to it but you are all used to being, well, normal. When we reach the castle I can try help lessen the effects of the aura, but it might have to be one at a time - I might find a mage or something like a magic amplifier to help me with that. You got me now, Princey?"

Roman nodded. "Yep, that makes more sense. Thanks."

"No problemo!" Winked Virgil, giving a cocky salute.

Patton raised his hand. "Quick question, kiddo, but are we near a village or something? The last time we stopped to eat properly was back at that fairy village just by the border!"

Logan nodded at his boy friend's' point. "I concur with Patton. The steeds have been practically walked to death. It's probably wise we don't ride them for the time being." Roman dismounted Storm as Patton dismounted Cloud - both men looked rather sheepish.

"There is actually a village nearby!" Virgil claimed brightly, smiling. "It's about a half-hour away and has a straight road to my castle! We'll get there twice as quick if we take that route!"

"Sounds like a beneficial plan." Nodded Logan, thoughtfully. "Are we all unanimous on this decision?"

Patton grinned. "I'm all in!"

Roman sighed as he stroked Storm's' muzzle absently. "I guess. But can the road not be straight? Can it be- I dunno, pansexual or something?"

"You..." Virgil said, looking at Roman with mild alarm, "Are sooo sleep deprived right now."
