Warning: Language that is not Patton approved!

"ROMAN! YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Virgil screamed, clenching his fists. "ASSHOLE! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, YOU UNHOLY, GODDAMN SON OF A SLUTTY, MOTHERFUCKING BITCH!"

"How much swearing do you think he can fit in one breath?" Patton whispered to Joan.

Logan looked slightly stunned as he stared at the fading thestral and the sudden rider. "...When could he ride Storm?"

"ROMAN, YOU BITCHY DICKHEAD! BLOODY FUCKWIT! SPAZ! EEJIT! GET THE FUCKING HELL BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!" Virgil yelled. When Roman actually got Storm to kick off into the air, Virgil reached his limit. Reaching down, he tore off his hoodie and shirt in one quick motion.

Logan instinctively took a step back, bringing Patton and Joan with him.

"What's he doing?" Joan asked, utterly perplexed.

The adivisor's' eyes were wide. "No idea..."

Virgil curled inwards slightly and there was a loud tearing noise. Protruding from his back were two huge wings. Coated in feathers and dripping with a tar-like substance, they were the size of Virgil at least! The Dark Realm Prince looked up, eyes locking on the black spot that was his stolen thestral and, with a single flap of the wings, took off from the ground, flying over to Roman and Storm rapidly.

The three left on the ground were silent for a moment. It didn't last long.

"What the actual frick?!" Joan said, eyes still locked on the place Virgil had been.

Logan breathed out slowly. "So he can grow wings too..."

"Wait, 'too'?  What else can he grow?" The knight asked, turning his attention to Logan.

The advisor merely adjusted his glasses. "A giant spider, I think. Dark Royalty possess magic that covers a very wide branch of things."

"That's cool..." Murmured Patton.

"Yeah, cool, creepy, unnerving, whatever - but can we focus on the fact he flew to Roman with fricking MURDER in his eyes?!"  Joan was obviously handling the situation with a calm and thoughtful manner.

Patton shook his head, finding his voice. "Virgil wouldn't hurt Roman. Sure, he'd be furious but he wouldn't actually hurt him."

A loud thud jolted them from their conversation. Virgil had just landed Storm, with Roman clinging around the enemy's' waist, eyes screwed shut.

Roman, realising he wasn't dead, opened an eye and let go of Virgil, who turned to face him. "What the fuck were you thinking?!" He spat loudly.

"I-" Roman tried.

"Did you want  to die? Because I'll sure as hell grant that wish right now!" Virgil yelled, dismounting and, for some reason, helping down the pale-faced Roman.

The Light Realm Prince tried to stand still but he was just shivering, eyes cast down at Virgil's' feet. "I'm sorry..." He whimpered.

"Sorry?! SORRY?! Roman, you could've died!  You didn't have Storm's' reigns in your hands and you were practically trying to fly vertically! What the hell were you thinking?!" Virgil yelled back, waving his arms around in inexpressible fury. "Not to mention the fact you lied to me and Logan-"

"-Logan and I-"

"SHUT UP, LOGAN!" Virgil snapped to face the advisor so quickly it made Patton yelp. The Dark Prince spun back round to face the sorrow-filled man. "You lied to Logan and I, then stole my thestral and for what?! To see if there was an afterlife??!! Did you get anything out that little adventure?"

Roman had paled so quickly he was whiter than Virgil. The prince stared down at the other in guilty fear. The truth was, he was about to slide right off the saddle and would've if Virgil hadn't caught Storm's' reigns to pull him to a safe angle. He just needed to try to stop Virgil from yelling at him again. It would need to be a smooth, witty, confident statement - something that maybe went like "... I like your wings..." Fricking nailed it.

Virgil stared at him sourly. " I like them better when I didn't have to use them to save your life, fuckwit." Then he turned abruptly away from Roman, snatching his clothes up off the ground and shrinking back in his wings, storming off as he pulled them back on over his head - Storm followed after his owner, confused.

"Happy now, Joan?" Roman asked crossly.

"Wait, what has Joan got to do with this?" Asked Logan.

"I guess I'm satisfied." Answered Joan with a friendly smirk.

Roman scowled. "Good, because you can explain to Virgil why that happened." And he too walked off in the opposite direction of the other prince.

Joan's' face dropped as their friend walked away.

"Okay, what did you have to do with it?" Logan asked again.

Patton sighed. "They and Roman made a bet that Roman couldn't fly Storm without Virgil and Joan made an exception that Roman couldn't say what he was doing or even hint at it."

Logan looked at the knight. "Well, that was a stupid thing to do. Did you not think of the consequences?"

Joan shook their head sullenly.

"I agree with Roman then. You should explain to Virgil what really happened." Logan nodded thoughtfully, before conducting himself with perfect posture to Virgil and Storm, with the obvious hope of calming down the Dark Prince.

Patton looked at Joan sympathetically. "I need to go check on Roman, kiddo. Wanna come?"

"Nah, you go on," they replied with a quick smile. Patton nodded and chased after Roman.

When they were alone, Joan half sat/half-collapsed onto the ground, burying their head into their hands. Cloud walked over lazily and lay down next to them.

And they sat alone. "Y'know, Cloud," Joan said quietly, "The next village we stumble along, I won't leave it. I'm not making this quest thing any better."

Cloud just snorted, tossing her mane with slight interest.
