I quietly flopped onto the ground and pulled myself across the floor to the bathroom door and opened it. When it was open just a crack, a puff ball came shooting out. She ran past me then stopped to run back to me. She hopped onto my lap and I could tell that she wanted me to pick her up, so I did. I held her against my chest, and as I did, she rubbed her face against my chin. I could tell that she was happy to see me. As soon as I put her down so I could crawl back to the sofa, she hopped up again and wanted me to hold her. I laid down on my stomach to start army crawling to the sofa, she then jumped onto my back and rode me all the way there. I slowly sat up so she could jump off so I could get back onto the sofa.
I tried for so long that I gave up and decided to pull the pillow and blanket onto the floor to sleep there. Once I was settled in my temporary bed, Melody curled up next to me and fell asleep. Through the blanket I could tell how warm she was; it was comforting. After that, I fell asleep super fast and didn't wake up until my alarm went off. When it went off, I instantly filled with dread and didn't want to try and go to school, but I didn't want to miss any more days and I am fully capable to sit in class and pay attention; I just don't have the strength like I'm supposed to.
I rolled out from under the warm blanket and began my journey of getting ready. I was now able to walk somewhat. I was still very weak, but I was strong enough to carry my own weight barely. I surprisingly got my uniform on in no time, but the thing that took the longest was flat ironing my hair. It took me so long that as soon as I walked out of my room, both Aizawa and Yamada were already up. I leaned against the wall as I walked to the staircase and down them. I almost fell a few times down the stairs, but I made it. As soon as I made it to the bottom step, I sat down on it and put on my shoes, then waited there for the other two to be ready to leave.
"What are you doing down here?" Yamada asked as he picked up a shoe.
Aizawa got kinda mad, "You should be staying here!" He corrected himself by calming down, "You still are weak, right? You could get hurt while you're at school."
Sounding persevered, I said, "I'm not going to miss school anymore. I'm able to sit there and pay attention in class, so why can't I go since I'd just be sitting there?"
"Today the class is doing drills." he said.
I stood up which took a lot of effort. "I usually sit out during those anyway, so why does it matter to me? I could catch up on work from other classes during that time."
He sighed, put on his shoes, then said after standing up and putting his hands in his pockets, "I suppose you're right."
"Great, let's go!" Yamada said as he opened the door then left for the car.
I waited for Aizawa to leave first, but he made me go before him. Unsteadily, I walked to the car. Once I ran out of wall to hold onto, Aizawa grabbed me by my arm and helped me. When we got to the car, I just flopped in and buckled up, which took forever. When we got to the school, Yamada helped me this time. He helped me to my classroom, which once I was at my desk, I fell asleep like usual. What felt like seconds later, Iida woke me up.
"There you are; where were you for the past three days?" Iida asked.
I used the case to my advantage, "I had to go on a stake out for this case I have to help with."
"I see; did you make any progress?"
"Yep, we know the villains whereabouts now." I said, making up a quick lie.
"That's good, I'm sure the agency is glad that they have someone like you helping." he said with a smile.
I tried to make a small smile, "Yeah, they probably are."
After a while everyone else started to show up. The usual group that I hung out most of the time with gathered around me and started asking me questions why I was gone and about the trip to I-island. Once class started, we first did some assignments, then we were dismissed to lunch once lunchtime rolled around.
"You should join us, Y/N." Midoriya said, inviting me to join them.
"I'm sorry, but I'll eat my lunch in here. I have work to get done, so I'll try to cram that in during lunch." I said, trying to be polite.
"That's too bad, but I guess that happens when you miss a few days of school." said Uraraka, sounding bummed out.
I smiled softly, "Yeah, I'll have to join you guys later this week, for sure next week."
"Well then, we're off, see you later." Midoriya said before him, Todoroki, Uraraka, and Iida left for lunch.
I didn't want to tell them that I was too weak to walk there without help, but it gave me the idea to work on my missed work from the previous days. Since I didn't have lunch with me, I spent all of lunch working on the homework. Since it was all so easy, I finished nearly all of the papers that I had. I could have finished them all if it wasn't for the math problems that were so lengthy, though they were easy. When everyone came back from lunch, Aizawa told them to change into their gym uniforms and to meet at an arena training area. Since everyone was in the locker room getting changed, Aizawa insisted that I sat and watched them like what I usually do when they are training. I reluctantly said yes, to which he helped me to the training arena. We made it there a few minutes before the class started to show up.
I sat away from everyone else as I watched Aizawa tell them the instructions on what to do, then watched them follow those instructions. I think I may have fallen asleep at some point because I woke up to Aizawa lightly kicking my foot.
He whispered to me, "I told you that you should have stayed back at the apartment."
"It's just that I'm sitting here doing nothing, of course I'd fall asleep." I said.
"Sure." he said skeptically.
"What? It's true!" I said, defending myself.
He started to walk off as he said over his shoulder, "Whatever, at least it wasn't during class."
When the day was nearly over and to the point that everyone could go change, Aizawa helped me walk again to the classroom once everyone left the arena. We waited about thirty minutes after the final bell rang for Yamada to be ready. When he joined us in the 1-A classroom, we left for the apartment. When we got back, I kicked off my shoes and crawled upstairs. I wouldn't let anyone help me because I didn't want to be a bother. Once I made it upstairs, I leaned against the wall and walked to and in my room. I was going to do what little homework that I had, but I was so tired that I fell asleep sitting up on the sofa. I woke up during the middle of the night, but I didn't bother to change into PJs or to get into bed. I just laid down on the sofa and stayed there for the rest of the night.
