"Please, don't hurt yourself more than what you already have." He said as he got me to sit up with my back on the side of my bed.
"I won't..." I started, but then my thoughts drifted elsewhere and I started talking about something that was sort of off topic. "I'm sorry about all of this. I'm sorry you had to look after me as if I was little again." I looked out the window, "I'm glad you're here though."
He sat on the stool that was still by my bed. "Y/N..." He said quietly.
"I'm tired of being alone, I mean, I can't be alone." I looked down at my hands and messed with my fingers, "I'm broken and I can't be fixed. My past's the shards of glass that are stuck in my skin, and I can't pull them out or else they would tear away even more at the person that I am now." I looked up to Toshi, "I'm sorry that I have put you through so much. I'm nothing but a disappointment and embarrassment to you. I try my best to do whatever, but it backfires and I make a fool of myself." I looked down and said in a near whisper, "Just like all the times I tried to die."
"If anyone should be saying sorry, it should be me. When you were little I wasn't able to check in on you like I said I would, so it's my fault that I hadn't seen you for so many days without bringing food; that it's my fault that the villain kidnapped you." He said as he looked down in shame.
I tried to stand up, holding onto the side of the bed for dear life, "I shouldn't have listened to a stranger and went with him. I should have stayed inside the apartment and not went anywhere." I said in a serious tone.
There was a moment of silence before he said, "Do you know why I wasn't able to find you? Why is there no information on the guy at all, even after you came back? Why is it starting back up?" I stopped trying to get up and sat there patiently for him to start talking again. "It's because he was so well at hiding his tracks that no one was able to find him."
"What about the hero who saved me?" I asked, confused.
"As soon as the hero started describing what happened or where his hideout was located, he fell over dead. When the autopsy came back it showed that there was this device in his head that if he were to recall the thought about the place by verbally or writing it down, it would kill him instantly." he explained as he looked out the window.
I looked down as my heart sank lower, knowing that my pain wasn't able to help anyone. I then asked, "How long was I missing for?"
"A little over a year..." He looked down and shook his head, about to say something else but chose not to.
"How was my apartment not sold off again or anything like that?" I asked.
He looked up at me, "I paid for your rent while you were gone."
"Come here." I said quietly. He just looked at me, making me repeat myself, "Come here." I tapped my hand on the floor, indicating to him to sit next to me. He then stood up and joined me. "Why did they want you to watch me while I was out?" I asked.
"Aizawa said that he thinks that this isn't the first time that something like this happened, and that he didn't want you to wake up alone with no one to help you; just to be by yourself with your thoughts and the war in your mind..." He said, explaining their reason behind my babysitters presence. He paused before saying in a solemn tone, "Please, don't do that again...I have found one of your letters before and I don't want you to be gone with that last piece of writing left to leave me with the thought of how you thought of your final seconds on this earth."
"I'm sorry-"
"Don't be, you were only trying to save yourself. Aizawa tried to save himself too; so if you wanted to talk to anyone who knows what you're going through, talk to him. I mean, you can talk to me or Yamada, but he'd be better at understanding." Toshi offered, trying to help.
