Chapter 70: I'm awake

"I thought you promised us that you were going to jump off of the tallest building that you'd find and jump off!"

I sheepishly replied, "I did...I don't know why I'm still alive."

"Well jump again! If it doesn't work the first time, jump again, and again, and again!"

"I understand." I said, maintaining the same tone as before.

The bully took a large step towards me, "How can someone be so smart yet so fucking ugly at the same time?" He then punched me, causing me to fall down.

"I-"

I was cut off by the bully, "I didn't give you permission to speak, now did I?!" He yelled as he kicked me while I was on the ground.

After a few minutes of him beating me, he left me with blood running from my nose, from scratches on my face, and left me coughing it up too. Before he could get too far from me, I got up with rage coursing through my veins and punched him in the face with great force; using a strengthening quirk. He fell to the ground with one blow, looking as if he was in the same state I was in. Just then a group of his buddies came along and surrounded me. One of them, who was way older than I, punched me in the face, causing everything to go black.

I opened my eyes slowly as I noticed that I was quite parched, which made my throat feel like it was lined with sand. I tried to swallow to try and relieve my dry throat, but that was no use. I then cleared my throat and tried to speak.

"Guys?" I called out in a very airy tone, which made me think that they weren't able to hear me. "Hey, is anyone there?" I tried again to sound louder, but failed like the first time.

I laid there as I kept on trying to hydrate my throat with spit while I waited for someone to check on me. Finally after what felt like a whole day, someone came up to check on me. I waited for whoever it was to be closer to me before I tried to speak again. When the person made it to the loft, I saw that it was Yamada.

"Hey, could you please bring me a glass of water...a straw may be helpful in this situation." I said with a weak smile since I was glad someone finally came around.

Since the stool was still next to my bed, Yamada sat down on it. "It's a relief to see that you're up finally."

"Not to change the subject or anything, but water would be wonderful right now." I said, persisting on it that he was to bring me a glass of water.

He stood up, "Right, I'll get you a glass; you said with a straw too?"

"Yep."

"Alright, I'll be right back. While I'm at it I'll tell Sho that you're up." he said before walking off.

Not too long later he came back with Aizawa and a glass of water with a straw.

"Thank you." I said as Aizawa sat down on the stool and Yamada held the glass out so I could grab it.

"Remember? She can't move, she can only talk right now." Aizawa said after punching Yamada's back.

"Right." He responded as he turned his head from Aizawa.

"You can just pretty much set it on the bed and the straw tilted down." I said, which then he did set the cup down and positioned the straw. I guzzled it down as if I was stuck in the desert for ages.

Yamada asked as he took the cup away, "Would you like another glass?"

"No, it's fine, thank you." I said. Yamada sat down on the floor next to Aizawa, who was on the stool, and sat the glass next to him. "How long was I out?" I asked, sounding weak.
