It was worth it, just for that smile. It made my heart soar.

Colby took my hand.

"Let's go meet your family."

I liked the sound of that. Family. He let my hand go for just a second to open the door, and we walked inside.

He kicked it shut behind him, letting the sound reverberate through the house.

"Hey Colby, that you Brother? I was just about to text. We got a run to do tonight. Running low on bloo-Oh." An extremely attractive blonde guy, with the same piercing blue gaze as Colby, walked out of the open doorway on the right. "Chloe." He breathed, staring at me.

It almost made me uncomfortable with the amount of emotion that I saw in his gaze. His blue eyes had the same silver ring as Colby's. They must be related or something.

Something was familiar about him, like I had met him before. I gave him a timid smile, unsure of what to say. Colby put Prissy down on the floor, just as this huge white wolf came bounding out of one of the rooms towards us.

I screamed and tried to grab her up, but she headed straight for the enormous creature. Colby grabbed me around the waist, stopping me from going after her.

"What are you doing?!" I started screaming, fighting against him to get to my baby.

"Just look." He whispered softly in my ear.

Prissy was rubbing her body along the white wolf like she was best friends with it.

"What in the hell? Have I stepped into an alternate reality?" The wolf had it's tongue hanging out of it's mouth, looking like it was grinning at me, as it sat down next to my cat. "Is she gonna be okay?" I whimpered, scared of what might happen.

Colby chuckled lightly, and rubbed my arm.

"She's gonna be fine. Circa loves her. I promise."

I relaxed a little against his chest, but still watched the giant animal.

"So Colby," The blonde started speaking pulling my attention back to him.

When I looked back at him, he was staring at Colby with a worried expression.

"Why didn't you warn me, I mean tell me that you were on the way? And that you were bringing Chloe?"

Colby shrugged. "Honestly just lost track of time. Forgot. Didn't think it would be a big deal."

The blonde narrowed his eyes at him. "Seriously? You know that you could've risked-"

He cut off whatever it was he was about to say and shook his head.

"Hey Chloe, it's nice to have you back. I'm Sam."

He held his hand out to me, and I just looked at it for a moment. He was about to drop it when I stepped closer and wrapped my arms around his waist in a hug. I don't know why I did that, it just felt right.

His strong arms came around me, enveloping me, while his face went into my neck. He was shorter than Colby so my cheek rested against his shoulder.

"Hi Sam." I whispered.

"Okay, that's enough." I heard Colby say, laughing lightly but with an edge to his voice.

Sam pulled away from me, grinning wickedly.

"What's wrong Brother? Afraid that she might like me more now?"

I looked back at Colby, ready for his smart remark. Instead he just had a smirk on his face, staring at his...brother, I guess. They looked as different as night and day, dark and light.

Like one was the moon, while the other was the sun.

'One can't live without the other.'

Those words flashed through my brain, causing a jolt of pain similar to what I had experienced yesterday. I lost my balance, stumbling against Sam as my hands shot to my head.

"Ohhh," I moaned out, as I felt Sam's arm catch me.

"Chloe!" Colby's voice rang out right next to me, then I felt him take me into his arms, supporting me.

"M'okay. Just had one of those flashes. It's okay."

I wasn't going to mention what I heard? Saw? It was like a voice in my head but also the words themselves.

This was fucking weird.

What did that mean?

"You sure? We can leave. Maybe we should. I don't want this messing with your head. Yeah, let's go."

He started walking, pulling me with him, but I pulled back.

He could've just dragged me along, I could tell, but instead he stopped and looked at me with so much pain in his eyes, I lost my breath.

"I don't want to go Colby. I want to try this. If it happens again, we'll go. Okay? Promise." Seemed like we were saying that to each other a lot.

He bit his bottom lip, the worried look never leaving his eyes.

"Please." I begged.

He sighed, and relaxed his shoulders.

"Fine. But we're gone if one more thing happens. One more little flash and that's it." He wasn't asking.

I nodded in agreement.

"Hey, have you guys seen Corey? He's not in the room and he's not coming when I call him." I heard a sweet, innocent sounding girl's voice before I saw her.

A beautiful girl with doe eyes, and brown hair, so pure that I instantly wanted to be her friend.

She stopped in her tracks when she saw me.

"Chloe! Hey, um, do you know who I am?"

I shook my head feeling ashamed for some reason. "No, m'sorry."

She nodded, chewing the inside of her cheek. "Okay, that's fine. You will soon, I'm sure. I'm Devyn. We're good friends."

She leaned in to hug me and I was grateful. When she pulled away, she had a soft smile on her lips. "It's good to have you home."

"Hey Dev, did you find Corey? Maybe Sam knows." I heard another female voice, but this one tugged at my heart hard.

"Katrina," She said staring at me. "Come here."

I saw a slight flash of light and had a quick sharp pain but I managed to keep it hidden from Colby. I saw the blue hair first, then the face.

Her mouth fell open in shock.

"Chl-Chloe?"

Then the most severe pain I've ever had shot through my head, causing me to grab my head. I would have hit my knees if Colby hadn't caught me around the waist. Then everything went black.
