The group murmured "yeah," but kept standing around.

"Then get where you're supposed to be." I yelled, annoyed that they had to be told.

Half piled in behind Sam and I, while the rest gathered around in front of us, standing with their backs to the girls on the couch.

"We need everyone to be on their guard, with us and the ones who are staying here. The poison that they used last time took out some of our best guards. We don't know what it is so don't trust anyone. While we hope that we can trust everyone that we've asked here tonight, we can't be one hundred percent positive that we don't have a traitor in our midst. Everyone be careful." Sam stated, his voice ringing with authority.

I turned back to the group behind Sam and I.

"We'll meet you guys outside in a second."

I watched them disappear, a couple at a time, until Sam and I were the only ones left inside, from the group that would be leaving. We moved to stand in front of the group that was blocking the girls. They broke apart, leaving a pathway between us and them.

When I could see Chloe's face again, I noticed that she was watching the entire thing with wide eyes. Katrina too. I guess they weren't used to seeing us this way.

I held my hand out to Chloe, and she took it, letting me pull her to her feet. I could feel the other vamps in the room watching us but I didn't care. They had never seen me act this way around any female.

They needed to know how important these girls were to us. If anything happened to them while we were gone...well, they just better hope that it didn't. The outcome wouldn't be pretty.

I pulled Chloe against me, wrapping my arms around her waist, as hers went around my neck. I stared down in her beautiful hazel eyes, noting the worried expression still in them.

I pushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear, and grinned.

"Stop worrying love. It'll be fine. I promise."

God, I hoped that I would be able to keep that promise. She gave me a soft smile, but her expression didn't change.

I leaned down and pressed my lips gently against hers, savoring the moment.

"I'll be home soon. Until then, just have fun, and Mike and the guys will be watching over you. I love you Chloe. I'll always come back to you. Remember that."

She nodded, and leaned up to give me another quick kiss. "I'm going to hold you to that."

 I chuckled, and released her.

I looked at Sam, who had just released Katrina.

"Ready?"

He nodded, and looked back at Kat. "I love you."

She blushed, making her scent stronger. "I love you too. Hurry home."

I nodded at Mike, Elton, and the guys, then made my way to the door, making sure that the others were behind me. Once outside, we stopped.

"Okay, we're meeting Aza on the rooftop of the apartment building in between the two territories. Neutral zone. Hopefully, this will all go according to plan, but I still need everyone to be on high alert. No room for mistakes. Got it?" They all nodded their affirmation. "Good. Let's go."

We took off running, since there were just too many of us to use cars. It was pointless anyways. It only took a couple of minutes to reach the apartment building.

We all stopped abruptly in front of it, taking in our surroundings.

"There are probably about 20 vamps in all around here. So it seems like he followed the agreement." Sam said, feeling out the area.

 I nodded.

"Seems like it. Let's hope he's willing to let Millie go. Come on."

We darted straight to the top, running up the sides of the wall from all directions to come in from all sides, just in case. Once we reached the top, we swung over, landing in crouches until we took in the scene in front of us. Azarious stood in the center of the landing, surrounded by his own entourage.

We walked towards him, the vamps spreading out, making a path for us. Aza had been a vampire for a very long time. I didn't know for certain how long, but rumor had it that he was at least a couple of hundred years old.

That always blew my mind when I thought about it. The reality that forever actually meant forever for me now. I kept my eyes locked on Aza's, as a sign of respect but I knew that my entourage was scoping out our surroundings, watching the other clan for any signs of danger.

"Aza, my old friend." I replied, as I got closer to him, grasping his outstretched forearm, as he did mine the same way.

"It's been a while, Colby." he answered, swinging his black greasy hair back from his head.

I mean, I know that we were vamps, but that didn't mean that we couldn't take a shower every now and then. His eyes were always black. I was convinced that was the natural color of his eyes.

"Yeah, it has." I released his grip, letting Sam step up to show his respect and receive it in return. "I'm assuming that you know why we're here."

He gave me a short nod. "Millie has been a very bad girl." he chuckled.

I bristled at how flippant he was being concerning the almost death of Chloe, but kept my cool.

"Millie has started a war, unless we can come to an agreement." I retorted, making my gaze grow hard.

Aza was old but he was no match for me and he knew it. Especially with Sam by my side, but he was crafty. I guess a couple hundred years of fighting other clans would do that to you.

"Well, let's see what we can do about that, huh?" he replied, grinning mischievously, looking like a war would be very entertaining to him right now.

"I want her dead...and I want to be the one to do it. By my hands, and only my hands." I told him, my voice deadly.
