I was back inside in less than a second, finding the rest of the guys and Tara, knocked out on the ground. Kat and Devyn were crying, cowering next to the bench, bleeding from their necks and wrists.

"Where's Chloe?" I roared out, looking around frantically, hoping to find her somewhere.

Kat shook her head and started crying harder.

"Th-they t-took her!" she cried out, then clamped her hand over her mouth as a hard sob hit her.

Other random humans were standing around, looking terrified and bewildered. I didn't wait to see if they were okay, or even check on my friends. I darted into the main part of the building where people were still dancing, acting like my world wasn't crashing down around me.

My eyes zoned in on the different people, trying to see if I could spot Chloe or Millie. I was going to kill that bitch. She had just opened herself up to it.

The Council would approve since she had just exposed our secret to multiple people and kidnapped my One. I was done playing this game with her. Sam popped up beside me, just as I was about to head out the door, to see if I could track Chloe by her smell.

"Do you see her?" he asked, wiping the black blood from his face.

Guess things got a little messy with the other vamp.

I shook my head.

"No, make sure everyone is okay. I have to go find her."

 "Colby, wai-"

I took off outside before he could tell me to wait.

There was no time to wait. Millie was insane and she could hurt or kill Chloe in a second. This was my fault.

I shouldn't have introduced her to this world. I shouldn't have let Millie know that I cared about her. I should have stayed away from her, just let her live her life.

Sam and the others would have kept her safe and maybe Millie wouldn't have became as obsessed with her if she didn't know that I loved her. As soon as I exited the building, I caught her scent. It was infected with the venom from her vampire bite, and it enraged me even more.

I felt like I was going to explode with the emotions swirling inside my veins. Between the worry, the fear, the anger, and the hate that I was feeling, I honestly didn't know how I was even still functioning. I darted across the city, knowing that I was moving so fast that no one could see me.

They would only feel a breeze when I flew by them. I ended up on the other side of town, in a run down area, in front of an abandoned apartment building. There were other vamps here...at least five.

Chloe's scent was strong, fueled by her fear. So that meant she was still conscious and not dead. Relief flooded through me.

I busted through the front door, feeling satisfaction as the wood splintered around me. The first floor was empty, so I kept moving up the stairs. Didn't care about the vamps on the other floors.

Chloe's scent was coming from the very top, so that's where I was headed. When I got to the top, there were two vamps guarding the door. I recognized one of them from Millie's entourage that was hanging out in the trees the night that Sam and I had our discussion with her.

They snarled at me as I approached them. I laughed maniacally, and rocked back on my heels.

"Do you really wanna die today?" I asked them, with a grin on my face.

My fangs slid back out, as I hissed through my teeth. They looked at each other uncertainly, but stood their ground.

"Why are you here? This isn't your territory," the one that I recognized stated.

"My territory is wherever I want it to be. Right now, it's here. You have something of mine and I'm here to get it back."

The other one grinned at me, baring his fangs. "We have nothing of yours. You should leave before you start something that you won't be able to finish."

The one that knew who I was shook his head slightly at the stupid one.

 I just laughed again.

"Okay...let's see if I can finish what I start."

I lunged at the stupid one, wrapping my arms around his neck, and twisting until I heard the bones snap and the skin tear. He dropped to the ground, unconscious, blood pooling from the rip in his neck. He would be out for a few hours at least.

The other guy backed up from me looking terrified, and then flew down the stairs. I let him go. He wasn't the issue right now.

I busted through the barricaded wooden door, my eyes scanning the room. The peeling wallpaper was dingy and yellowed with age. The wooden trim around the windows was splintering off, leaving jagged edges, the dust so thick, a normal human wouldn't be able to see out of it.

I heard a soft gasp, accompanied by muffled sobs. My head jerked in the direction of noise. The sounds were coming from behind another door, probably an old bedroom.

Chloe's scent got stronger and stronger, the closer I got. There was a vamp in the room with her. They had to know that there was another vamp coming towards them, but maybe they didn't know it was me.

I strolled casually to the door, keeping my speed normal and unworried.

"Did you guys take care of him? I wanna kill this bitch but Millie told me to keep her alive. Wanted her for herself. It's a shame really...she smells amazing." I heard this idiot speaking through the door, before he cracked it open, popping his head out of it.

I didn't waste any time. My fist went flying the air, connecting with his nose, busting it wide open, making his head snap back. He went flying backwards into the room, crashing against the window on the other side.

The glass shattered automatically. I sent a flying kick to his stomach, sending him through the busted window.
