Fire

I've been forced to watch my people die tonight.

They raised a glass for the last time,

And I wasn't there to help them through the blood forming on the breeze.

I wasn't there and my people fell.

All because I wasn't there,

I saw fire hollowing out the souls of my people.

It was the night when my people saw the darkness return

And the flames came to consume their souls and take their breath away.

There was nothing I could do to save them.

I could only watch as my people faded away in a fiery inferno.

There was no going back after they had gone,

No getting back up from where they had fallen.

It was either run or die.

There was no other choice.

Mia Hamm once said, "I am building a fire, and everyday I train, I add more fuel. At just the right moment, I light the match."
