Tim Drake x Reader-[Mute]

"I have to show the new kid around the school during period one and break time, will you be okay by yourself? It's only for the first lesson really." F/N tells me.

I nod my head accepting my fate for the first hour or so of school. I sign: 'Why do you have to do it?'

"Because if I don't I'll be suspended from the girl's basketball team and no longer be allowed to play. Our dickhead of a head teacher thinks I shouldn't be allowed to coach it because apparently, all I do is stand and do nothing." She complains.

'At least you can try out and be on the team.' I told her.

"It's not my fault you're mute." F/N held he hands up surrendering not wanting to have an argument. 

'Yeah well, it is your brother's.' I tell her.

She just sighs as the bell for first-period sounds, "Bye Y/N." She says quickly walking off.

I walk slowly to English with Mrs Flaherty the rudest teacher ever, she always tries to make me speak and read 'Of Mice and Men', the book we're currently reading. It's not my fault I can't talk, when I was younger I was scared so much by F/N's bother doing certain things, that I couldn't talk afterwards. Traumatizing really.

As I walk into the room and take my seat at the back I pull out  my copy 'Of Mice and Men' and turn to the page that is written on the board, "Okay let's read on, Y/N would you like to read?" She asked in a fake cheerful voice, the other students looked at me sympathetically. 

I signed, 'You know I full well can't speak.' 

The teacher copied my hand movements mockingly, "Stop this, and actually read the text."

I picked up my book and threw it at the board right next Mrs Flaherty's head. I got up with a huff as she screamed and all the other children gasped at me. I walked out of the classroom after picking up my backpack and walked out into the hallway, after walking around the school for a while I bumped into someone. 

"Y/N, what are you doing out of the lesson?" F/N asks.

I huff and sign, 'She tried to make me read again and I threw a book at her and barely missed and-' 

"You're going to fast Y/N calm down." She tells me resting her hands on my shoulders trying to stop me from shaking but it just got worst.

All of a sudden it felt like I was drowning, being tossed back and forth by the waves as I shuck violently. F/N was shouting my name loudly but it sounded I was surrounded by water. 

"Get help!" She shouted at the new kid she was caught me when I fell to the floor.

-Time Skip-

"She'll be fine, she's doing it for attention." Mrs Flaherty's voice rung through my ears, what an unpleasant way to be brought back to reality.

As my eyes opened I was greeted by a pair of soft pale green eyes, "You okay?" He asked.

"She's not fine!" F/N screamed.

I sat up with the help of the boy, I quickly took in my surroundings and noticed we were surrounded by a crowd on teachers.

"BECAUSE OF YOU SHE'S IN THIS MESS, BECAUSE OF YOUR IGNORANCE AND MISS TREATMENT OF HER SHE HAD A PANIC ATTACK AND BLACKED OUT!" F/N screamed louder.

"Okay, Mrs Flaherty get into my office now!" The principal said firmly.

She walked off with her head hung low shamefully.

"Are you okay Y/N?" Principal asked.

I nodded my head and stood up, after almost falling again but being caught by the new kid, 'Thanks.'

"OMG! You're okay! By the way, she said thanks Tim." F/N said as she ran and hugged me.

Tim chuckled.

-Time Skip- (Again IK Soz)

It's been a few weeks since the incident and I'm sat at my house with Tim and F/N. 

"Hey Y/N? What made you the way you are?" Tim asked slowly, thinking about the words he said carefully.

I looked at F/N and nodded.

"My brother did things to her when we were younger, he never got done for it though because the cops dismissed the case." She said wincing while looking at me.

F/N phone pinged as she looked at it and said, "I have to go, behave you two." She joked laughing.

I smirked at her and Tim laughed.

She left quickly leaving Tim and me alone, he doesn't know what I say most of the time. F/N is always a translator.

"So..." He started awkwardly, "You know what?"

I looked curiously at him.

"You're pretty cute, do you want to go out sometime?" He asked me.

I looked at him in shock before blushing and then nodding.

'You really need to learn sign language.' I silently laugh.

"I don't know what you just said but I need to learn sign language," He laughed.
