❖Gabriel❖

River and I are standing in front of my dads house. "Are you sure you about doing this? River asks me as I step towards the front door.
"I have to, he might be able to help with the other gangs. And he needs to know about this too." I answer while I ring the bell.
"Are you going to tell him about Anna?"
"He might already know." I say as the door opens.

"Young master Donati, what a pleasure to see you again." My fathers 'butler' says with a nod.
"Good to see you too Dario."

Dario has been with my family since forever. He started as one of my fathers body guards, but when Dario retired he decided to stay with my father, knowing that he needed someone to look after him, after mom died."Is the old man around?" I ask as River and I step into the house. "He's in the living room I believe." Dario answers and walks us there. "Thanks." I say and River nods.

My dad is sitting in an old chair, with his back towards us. He looks older then the last time I've seen him.His hair completely grey and his hands are wrinkled. As he turns around I also see big wrinkles forming on his forehead.

"So, you finally decided that it was time to tell your father about the problems you're having with my gang?"
"It's not your gang anymore dad."
"Clearly, otherwise this would have never happened."

I feel myself tensing up with anger and am about to say something back when River steps in.
"With all due respect Andreo, but you handed the gang over to Gabriel yourself and he is doing a good job. In your time there where big problems too and we all saw what happened then. Gabriel came here to talk about things so history wouldn't repeat itself."

My dad looks at River, his mouth slightly open, clearly surprised by him speaking up, and I can't help but smirk.
River may not say much, but when he speaks up, everyone reacts surprised because of the power radiating off of him.
"River is right. I came here for advice and to warn you as well. So the choice is yours now father. You either help me to keep the gang safe, or we leave right now and figure it out ourselves. The gang is already preparing for every possible outcome that we could think of, but we would like your help."

I look at my father, the man who once was the leader of the most feared gang. Andreo Donati, the most dangerous man around. But now, that is completely gone. Standing before me is only a shadow of what used to be.

My father sits down again, turning his back towards us. "You don't have to warn me, I already know everything." He waves towards the door, without looking at us, signalling that the conversation is over.

Sighing I turn towards River. "Let's go. He won't help." River nods and we walk toward the door.
"Ow, and Gabriel," I hear my father say just before I step outside. "I would keep that girl of yours close. You never know who is watching you."
I look over my shoulder to my father, slightly angry that he would say something like that. "I am not like you father. Io proteggo ciò che è mio."
Before he can answer I close the door behind me and walk outside.

❖Anna❖

The kiss from earlier today is still repeating in my head when I'm on my way to the pub.
I still can't believe that it finally happened. But I also still haven't completely figured out how I feel about Gabriel yet.

I walk into the back of the pub, ready to get changed for work, when Christy greets me.
"Why are you smiling like that?"
I look up at Christy with a grin. "And hello to you too. How wonderful to see you again my dear Christy."
"Okay, that's creepy." Christy says and pulls me down on a wooden bench in the middle of the staff room. "Just tell me An, I know something happened. You're almost glowing."
