Chapter 41

❖Anna❖

I'm sitting in one of the backrooms of Il Capello's warehouse. Gabriel finished his speech and is informing all the separated gang leaders what about their part in his plan, so everything will go exactly as planned tonight.
Aro and Joel are sitting on the couch, both completely focus on a game that they're playing on their phones.

Gabriel's speech is repeating in my head. He was standing there with so much strength and his words where so full of power. I'm absolutely positive that everyone who had listened to him, would side with him tonight. Even if they used to be against him.

Suddenly the door opens and a man, who looks like Gabriel, steps in. I'm guessing that this man, is his father.
The twins look up from their phones for a second, but return their attention to their games quickly. Clearly not surprised by this man entering our room. But I do see them watching the man every ones in a while.

"Hello." I say, deciding to act brave and make the first step. "I'm Anna, Gabriel's girlfriend. You must be his father. It's nice to meet you sir."
Gabriel's father looks at me, without saying anything. His eyes are scanning over me, as if he's judging me, which he probably is.
I shuffle with my feet on the spot, starting to feel uncomfortable with the silence.

Luckily Aro notices my discomfort and jumps into action. "Father, I do hope that you know that it's rude to stare. At least, that's what Gabriel always told us."
"Can't you see it's making her feel uncomfortable?" Joel joins in.

"I'm trying to figure out how she managed to turn Gabe's mind around, the wat she did. I had him completely emotionless, without any weaknesses and the she comes out of nowhere and completely ruins it."

"You're wrong sir." I interrupt him. "I believe that love isn't a weakness. It's a strength. It makes you want to fight on, to keep pushing until you've succeeded. Your son's love is what helped me survive when I was kidnapped by Samuel and my father. It helped me to go on after a beating, to wake up in the morning after they had used me for their own pleasure.
If I hadn't met Gabriel, I wouldn't have gotten out alive. So no, feelings are not a weakness. They make you human and they help you survive in the darkest places."

Looking at Joel and Aro, I see a glimpse of surprise in their eyes. They didn't think that I would speak up I believe.

"That's my girl." Gabriel's voice suddenly sounds through the room. I was so focused on what I was saying, that I didn't even notice him walking in.
He comes to stand next to me and wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me close to him.

"When you offered to help me, father, I thought you actually meant it. But I see that you actually wanted to pick on my girl. If that really is the case, then you can leave. You never let anyone even breath in mom's direction. And yet you think you can do this towards my queen? I will not tolerate that.
If you, however, still want to stay and help, then you will show respect towards the queen of Il Capello.
The choice is yours. But do know this," Gabriel's voice changes into a darker tone, meaning that he is very serious about what he is about to say, "if you leave now, you are not welcome to return ever again. If you leave now, you will be completely cut out of the familia. No one will contact you, you won't get any money again. And you will not receive our protection anymore. La scelta è tua."

For a moment, the room is silent. No one moves or makes a sound, it's like everyone stopped breathing in anticipation of which decision Gabriel's father will make.

"Wise decision." Gabriel says after a while. "Now don't make me regret this. You might be my father, but I am currently higher ranked then you are, and I will not hesitate to kick you out."

His father hums back in annoyance, but Gabriel ignores it and turns towards his twin brothers. "You two are in the lead tonight. I trust you two to keep Anna save and to keep the house protected. If there is anything happening that you don't trust, get the girls bring them to one of our safe houses and text me.
I don't think that it'll be needed, since Bratsvo has no idea that we're coming, but just in case. Don't try to be the hero. Get the girls and run. Their safety is your priority. Am I clear?"

"Like a diamond." Joel says.
"No, it's Crystal clear." Aro corrects his brother.
"But diamond is a crystal."
"Guys!" Gabriel interferes them. The twins look at their brother with a boyish, playful grin and walk out of the room, closely followed by their father, leaving me and Gabriel behind.

"Please be careful tonight." I beg him.
"You have nothing to worry about angel. I got the whole of the mafia to back me up. Samuel and your father have no idea what is coming for them. Before they understand what's happening, it'll be to late."
"Still, you need to be careful Gabriel. I want you back in one piece, without any blood on you."
Gabriel laughs, "The 'one piece' part, I can do. But I can't promise that their won't be any blood. Don't worry though, if there is any blood, it won't be mine."

I sigh and shake my head. Knowing that I can't change his thoughts, I drop the topic and hug him tightly. "Just stay safe and come back to me."
Gabriel hugs me back, giving me a small kiss on my forehead before resting his chin on my hair. "I will always come back to you Anna. Ti amo, mio angelo."
"I love you too Gabriel."

❖Gabriel❖

I watch Anna walk away with my brothers and father. I know she will be safe with them, but I still feel the need to watch over her for as long as I can.
"Gabriel." River calls me over. "Everyone has been informed of their part. all we need is your sign and we can go."
"Good work. I want you and Raphael to go down into the cellars and bring Easton up to the hall. We need him for our plan to work."
"I don't think he will cooperate Gabriel." River says with a serious a look in his eyes.
"Don't worry, if he doesn't do as we tell him to, his screams will lure Samuel out of his house."
River nods and walks off.

I look at the spot where Anna was standing earlier and take a deep breath. I need this plan to succeed. For Anna and for my mother. Tonight I will avenge the both of them.
"We're ready for you boss." a voice calls out to me from the hall.

"Easton, how lovely that you are joining us today! I'm sure Samuel will be absolutely delighted to see you again." I say ones I enter the hall. Easton is standing in between River and Raphael, who are holding him up tightly by his arms.
"I'm not helping you." Easton growls
"That's completely fine. I don't need your cooperation. As you have learned, we have different ways to make you speak... or scream."

"Gentlemen!" I turn my focus to my man. "The time has come for us to strike back. tonight, we will bring down an enemy that has been causing us trouble for generations. We will show them that we are superior to them. Tonight, we will write history!"
I take a moment to look at my man. Their eyes are filled with fire as they all stand ready to attack as soon as I give the signal.
"ARE WE READY?!" I yell, swiping up their energy even more.
A war yell erupts from the crowed and the adrenaline rises.
"Well then..... It's show time!"

Within minutes, the hall is empty again and all my man are on their way to Samuel's place.
I can feel my gun pressed against my skin. Soon, my gun will make Samuel bleed. Soon, it will make him pay for what he has done.
I will bring his reign to an end. Soon, Bratstvo will be history.
