Why Me?

Billy first stop was the County Seat

Knowing there was someone there

He had to meet

He got to jail and stormed right in

Not knowing exactly where to begin.

She looked at him with such hope

Billy wasn't sure he could cope

Too much pressure to have her life

In his hands.

He learned that lesson with Rue

In the Destiny lands.

She just smiled and said, "You came."

And he caved all the same.

"Lou, what the hell have you gotten

yourself into?"

Lou just shrugged, "Trouble, deep."

"Why would you choose to protect that creep?"

"Because like you he's more than he seems.

I personally think he's done with his schemes."

"He's left you here to die

And you're covering for him why?"

"Because I still have faith, I guess."

"So what... this is some sort of test?"

"I'm not crazy if he doesn't come through

that's why I told Justice to go find you."

"So I'm your back up plan,

now responsible for you lifespan?"

"I know it isn't fair, but you're the only

other person I knew would care."

"You're wrong there.

Buck, would have been by your side

if you would have only tried.

Brody would have been too

He'd lay his life down for you Lou.

Hell even Shamus would have shown up

Even though you two broke up."

"Lou shook her head no

Buck let me go,

I'm now sure when ...

Lou thought of the pin

Petra's won over him."

Brody means well but

he's fallen under Annie's spell.

And Shamus is the last man

I want to trust my life too

Billy said, dejectedly.

"If I ask too much,

I understand

I'll figure out another way..."

Billy grabbed Lou's hand

"I'm not going to let you die, Lou.

Not when I can have a say."
