Not sure where this request actually comes in terms of order, but they've waited long enough, so for @Aggie_Kiju who requested Could you do Kaito x Maki for your sickfic book where its outside the killing game and Maki is sick, like a high fever, thank you.

You're welcome, thank you for your patience!

Maki sighed, sneezing as she sat up in her bed, yawning from exhaustion. It wasn't unusual for her to wake up without her pain in the backside- significant other next to her, seeing as he was highly energetic and hated staying in one place for a large amount of time. He also worked long through the night into the morning, seeing as he was an astronaut. The training required unsociable hours, which was usually the reason they never really spent time together.

Usually, this factor wouldn't bother Maki. However, the last few nights Maki hadn't been feeling herself, and the one thing that would make her feel better would be her boyfriend. Of course, she couldn't be selfish, and she hated to be that type of girl, so she left Kaito to his own business and suffered in silence.

Kaito, no matter what anyone thought of him, was smarter than he was given credit for. He didn't contain a lot of intelligence like Shuichi or Kirumi, but he certainly held enough intelligence to determine when something wasn't settled with his girlfriend.

Okay, so maybe that isn't intelligence, and maybe he is just an idiot after all. At least he was trying to be smart, though.

Maki might've been willing to sort herself out on her own, but Kaito, being the gentleman he was, wasn't comfortable with leaving his lady so defenceless and to fend for herself. It wasn't like he would miss anything major either, only some training at the space station, and he was easily the most athletic one there. Besides, he could easily catch up if necessary, and it wasn't like he ever missed work. He was a dedicated young man, so his employers would understand.

It was once Maki had fallen asleep, around four in the morning earlier that night, that Kaito put his plan into action. Kaito never understood why Maki stayed up so late, but it was her decision, and it couldn't have beeb easy to sleep with the cough she had. He started with making some tea, an easy task for a guy with Kaito's abilities. He slowly stirred in some honey, knowing the positive affects it had on those who were ill, leaving the tea on the side to cool down as he finished his preparations. He then popped some bread in a toaster, waiting for it to toast as he fetched some butter to lightly top on the toast. Once the bread popped up from the toaster, he plated it, laying a small amount of the spread on top, enough to give some flavour, but not too much to affect the texture of the food. He'd read online that rough textures could soothe throats, and quite frankly Kaito was willing to try anything to get Maki well again.

This was when Maki woke up, with her sneezing and being alone, bringing us back into present timing.

Kaito silently tiptoed back to their room, carrying the drink and food on a tray. Once reaching the door, he smiled in admiration of his girlfriend, watching her yawn and cough. He thought she was beautiful, despite the circumstances, and for a second he was in awe of how she could look so good whilst feeling so bad.

"I got you breakfast." He whispered, setting it on the bed beside her, running his empty hands through her hair, tucking it behind her ear. She blushes, thanking him quietly before furrowing her brows. Realisation suddenly hit her as she looked up, choking on a bite of toast.

"You should be at the-"

"Shh." Kaito silenced her, ruffling her hair. She nuzzled into his touch, unaware that she was doing so. Kaito's eyes widened, but stroked her hair lovingly nonetheless. She continued to slowly eat the food he had made for her, sipping from the tea he had also gifted her.

"Its really nice." She murmured, almost embarrassed to admit such a thing. It was Kaito's turn to blush, and he turned away from Maki with a small smile.

"Guess I'm not totally useless, huh? Seeing as I'm not that bad, we should check your fever then send you back  to sleep."

"I don't need sleep." Maki protested, putting her tea to the side. She frowned at Kaito, who had already found a thermometer and placed it in her mouth. Maki sighed, grabbing her hair and hiding behind it, embarrassed that she had to be looked after. She was an adult, after all, and she could fend for herself. She was an assassin, for Christ's sake.

Kaito whistled, almost chuckling at her pathetic defiance. It wasn't only a poor attempt at trying to persuade him that she was ill, but she wasn't very smart about hiding her clear fever from the astronaut either. He shook his head.

"You're sporting a way-too high fever, Maki Roll. There's no way I'll let you do anything but sleep." He scolded, pushing her down to lay in the bed. He quickly disposed of the empty mug of tea, as well as the plate which only had lone crumbs dusted across the surface.

He slipped into the bed beside her, coaxing her to relax as he stroked her hair. It was like looking after a child, not that Kaito minded, especially seeing how adorable she could be when sick.

"Just get some rest, Maki roll." He murmured, pressing a delicate kiss to her forehead. It was still warm from the fever, and Kaito almost regretted touching the heated skin. "Sleep well."

"I love you." She whispered as she drifted off into a sleep. Her head rested on his chest, nuzzling into the hand that stroked her hair as if she was a cat. Kaito chuckled, smiling lovingly down at her.

"I love you too, whether you're a pain or not."

Haha whoops so much for "posting on the 25th, and if not the 26th" well done round of applause please for the worst updater ever. I'm so sorry, but there is reasoning behind why I haven't posted. I'll try and get better at it.

This is also disgustingly short I hate it
