"Reed anong ginagawa mo?" Hindi ko pa rin minumulat ang mga mata ko kahit na naramdaman ko siyang tumabi sa akin at niyakap ako galing sa likod.

He then proceeded on kissing my neck and pulling me closer to him.

"Monica is just my best friend, Sav. I just can't let her stay in their house alone when we have plenty of guest rooms here."

I controlled the fast thumping of my heart and breathed deep.

Savannah, best friend lang naman pala e. You shouldn't panic.

"Wala ba siyang pamilya na kasama sa bahay nila?" tanong ko. Mas humigpit lang ang yakap niya sa akin. "Her parents want her to handle their business here, so she went home with me."

Sa pagkarinig ko roon ay bumalik ang pagpapanic na nararamdaman ko kanina at napamulat ako. "So you're saying that she'll stay with us for good?" I tried to keep my voice down but I couldn't.

So, ano 'yun. Dito na titira 'yung babae na 'yun sa amin?

"No, I... Look, she'll stay here as long as she wants. She's like a family to me, agapi mou. I hope you'll not see any problem with that."

Tahimik lang siya habang nag-aabang ng sagot ko sa sinabi niya. He reached for my hand and played with my fingers, as if it'll erase my bad vibes towards that girl. I let him play for a while and then I turned around to face him. I knew I was stalling but I couldn't find myself to say that's it's okay.

Ayokong sabihin na okay lang dahil magsisinungaling lang ako kapag sinabi ko iyon. I didn't know why I was feeling like that towards a girl that I haven't even met. I knew he said to me that she's suppose to be our best friend, and I shouldn't have an odd feeling towards her, pero hindi naman din niya ako masisi kung ganito ang nararamdaman ko.

Lalo na at isang linggo siyang hindi nagparamdam tapos pag-uwi niya ay may bitbit na siyang ibang babae na alam ko namang mahalaga rin sa kaniya.

Sino ba namang matutuwa roon 'di ba?

"You'll like her, baby," he said kissing the tip of my nose. "She's a little bit shy and timid but when she's in the kitchen, she totally transforms into..." Huminto siya nang mapansin niyang masama na ang tingin ko sa kaniya. His voice was full of adoration for that woman. And I hated it.

Ganoon ba talaga sila ka close para marinig ko 'yun sa boses niya? At hindi niya ba alam na hindi siya dapat namumuri ng ibang babae sa harap ng girlfriend niya? Ugh. Sometimes, I hated the fact that boys were somewhat insensitive to these things. "What I want to say is that, Monica is a great girl. Plus, she adores you and she wants to meet you again."

I ignored his last statement and raised my brows to question him.

"Alam niya ang tungkol sa atin, tama ba?"

Ngumiti siya sa akin. "She accepts us agapi mou. She understands where we are coming from."

Iniwas ko ang mata ko sa mga dimples niyang lumitaw. No. Ayokong maging malambot muna sa kaniya ngayon at baka masanay na hinahayaan ko lang siyang gawin ang gusto niya.

"Tell me, isa ba siya sa mga sinasabi mong babae dati na sinubukan mong mahalin, makalimutan lang ako?" I asked.

Hindi siya ka agad nakasagot. Inalis ko ang kamay niya sa aking baywang pero ibinalik niya lang ulit iyon.

"Reed,"

Kumunot ang noo niya. "Is that even important?"

"Aba oo naman!" I exclaimed.
