Chapter 29

Flashback chapter for Kelley when Evelyn takes her on the blind date with Alex

Kelley's POV:

"Eve really who is it? You know I don't like going on dates with people I don't know" I say while Eve is looking through my closet for a pair of shoes to match the black dress I'm wearing

"First off Kel, you need to go out and meet new people, after you know what happened sophomore year you never wanted to meet new people, and yes I know that is something that still scars you but you can't let him win" Evelyn says in the closet

"You know I don't like talking about that Eve, she's with a family who can care for her" I say with annoyance

Evelyn walks out with a pair of black high heels to go with the outfit and puts her hand are her hips

"Kelley, when she gets older she is going to look for you, I hope you know that, she is your daughter. Once I met her at the hospital I knew she would be a splitting image of you. And Kelley I swear to god if you think that your daughter can be a excuse not to go out and meet new people, I will personally kick your ass" Evelyn says with one high heel pointing at me

"Do I even tell this person I have a daughter and I don't where she lives?" I say to Eve

"I would wait, but Kelley don't hide it from them if you two end up getting into a serious relationship" she says while fixing my hair

"Ok you are ready, let's go to meet these blind dates!" Evelyn says cheerfully

"Wait you are coming?!" I say in a shock

"Well actually, my date is friends with the person you are going on a date with so they are meeting us in town" Evelyn says will we both head to her car

"I really hope you got somebody who isn't a freak... I don't like dudes who are freaks or not my type" I say while in the car

While at a stoplight Evelyn looks at me with a evil grin of hers

"Who said it was a guy you are going on a date with?"

"Wait, no you didn't... Evelyn May Stewart, who is the girl??" I say quickly

"Man you really like to ask a lot of questions.... all I'm saying is that she is going to the University of Berkeley California" Evelyn says while looking at the road

"How do you know people from Berkeley?" I say questionably

Evelyn stays quite after that until we get to the restaurant

"So are you like not going to tell m-"

"Alex! Johnathan! It's so great to finally  meet you guys after the company Christmas party!" Evelyn excitedly says

I look to where Evelyn was talking and I'm stunned

I see this beautiful girl, I can tell already she plays sports and she is somebody I would marry

"Hi, my names Kel-"

"Kelley O'Hara, I've heard a lot about you from my friend Eve here, you must be my date, she wouldn't tell me at all who my blind date would be, and Johnathan is her date so she watch us I guess" Alex says while sticking her hand for a hand shake

I shake her hand back

"So how do you know Eve if I may ask?" I say

"Well that's a long story, but long story short we met a company Christmas party last year for a company we worked for, Jonathan and Eve worked in the same department and he introduced me to her" Alex says we walk a little behind Johnathan and Evelyn who don't even notice we are behind because they are so into their conversation

"Huh, she never told me she went to a Company Christmas party last year, how long have you guys known each other, other then that party?" I say yo Alex

"Ha, since Freshman year of high school, and you?" Alex says while we head into the restaurant

"All the way since Middle school" I say while we take our seats

"But we went our separate ways in high school and now go to the same college" I say

"Small world haha" Alex says

"So what are your plans after college?" Alex says

"Well actually I'm waiting on a possible call up for a camp for the United States women's soccer team"

Alex was sipping on some water she she spits it out

"Wait really?! Me too!" Alex says excitedly

At this point I realized me and Alex had way more in common then I though and have some feeling Eve planned all of this because right when Alex said that I looked over at Eve and she just smiled at me and winks at me like all of this was planned.

"Wow, that's crazy, maybe I'll see you at camp" I say

"That would be great, we'll have to keep in touch"
