Kleya's POV
I'm a selfish person. I only care about myself. I left Alicia behind so why would I stay for the ones I don't even love. I kept repeating these words to myself over and over again as I crawled my way along the tight air vent. I've been crawling for about thirty minutes and I can already notice the small light ahead of me. This is it... my crawling will finally come to an end. I'm almost at the basement, the same basement that we used to escape this place weeks ago.
I blew a sigh of relief the moment my feet landed on the ground. There was a pang on my feet but I just ignored it, I already accepted the fact that my body isn't really athletic. I can punch and kick my way around but when it comes to running and jumping around, I suck.
I moved quickly and carefully towards the secret tunnel that we used. It was dark but I had a cellphone with me, it's one of the phones that we bought back when we were still running away and looking for python, the cellphone has a flashlight and it's what shed light in my escape.
"Fork yeah!" Napasinghap ako sa tuwa nang sa wakas ay marating ko ang dulo ng tunnel at makita ang napakaraming mga puno sa paligid. Lumingon ako at mula sa kinatatayuan ko ay tanaw ko ang mga ilaw na nagmumula sa Cosima.
"How could you leave them behind like that?"
Biglang lumitaw sa harapan ko ang imahen ni Baldwin. Nakatalikod siya mula sa akin at gaya ko ay nakatanaw din siya sa direksyon ng Cosima.
"You're not real.. My mind is just messing with me." Pinikit ko ang mata ko at agad na umiling-iling. Idinilat ko ang mga mata ko ngunit napasinghap ako nang matagpuan ko ang sarili ko sa kusina, nakaupo sa harapan ni Miller habang ginagamot niya ang sugat ko sa braso.
"Baldwin wanted you to be the leader because he saw something in you. And I can see it to. You're not as bad as you think you are. You may think that you're rotten and wretched but you're not. You have anger issues but a heart of gold," sambit ni Miller na para bang punong-puno siya ng tiwala sa akin kaya muli kong pinikit ang mga mata ko.
Nang muli kong idinilat ang mga mata ko, natagpuan ko ang sarili kong nakaupo sa sahig at hawak ang naghihingalong si Aaron. Tinanggap niya ang saksak na para sana ay sa akin kaya heto siya at nasa bingit ng kamatayan.
Ipinikit kong muli ang mga mata ko at nang muli ko itong idinilat ay nakita ko si Tasha sa harapan ko na umiiyak. Her crying eyes are full of sadness as she spoke. "A-after all that we've been through, you're still going to leave us behind?"
