“Avi, I still feel that leaving hospital for such a long time is not good.” Nandini expresses about her worry, that had been bugging her since the time she learned that they're going to be gone away for a whole lot of four months, as Avidaan and her were getting to the airport in a cab. Their families insisted on sending them off at the airport but Avi swerved out of it for the promise that he had made to Nandini about no family ruckus for the next two months.

“Chill, you stress factory. I have everything under my control. We are having an arranged marriage and for that we have to spend lots of time together.” Avi explained it to her, not looking at her, engrossed in his phone checking-in online to get the desired seats about which Nandini was surprisingly very dainty about. Nandini narrowed her eyes at him before making an sarcastic comment, something that she was best at.

“Yeah, up till now all the time that we were together was ofcourse in the presence of the vampires from their world, aliens from Saturn and wait.... How can I forget?... Zombies from Antarctica.” she added up a sarcastic smile to the statement. Avi looked up at her and made a whatever face.

“Shut up. That's different. I mean it's like now, always into banters or pulling each other's leg or something worse, nothing like a soon-to-be-married couple should have spent like, bonehead.” Avi retorted right back, focusing on his mobile again and she rolled her eyes at that. She was so much used to not agreeing with him and arguing at every small-little-last-single thing that behaving like a girlfriend or fiance was going to give a real tough time.

After that it was Avi busy on his phone and Nandini lost in her thoughts.

Everything was changing so fast and Nandini was not good with sudden rushes in her life. She remembered how tough it had got when out of the blue she had to shift with her uncle and aunt to NYC for certain issues. Her elder brother did not accompany her to the new country and rather stayed back in Dehradun completing his studies alongwith taking care of her dad's business in Delhi. Since then everything had been  stagnant on her life keeping in consideration that she had no relationships. Now, it was this big decision that she had made to get married to her best friend on her family's insistence that kept pestering her.

Getting married to him when not in love, somewhere did not settle for her. She kept telling herself that it was just the anxiety and excitement before the wedding that was hitting her and this would fade away if they spent time as an engaged couple.

Going back to India and that to Mumbai was all the more intimidating than any other feeling. The city where she spent almost seventeen years of her lifetime was left behind nine years ago and now going back there though for a couple of months it sent jitters down her spine. Leaving NYC this time felt the same way she felt when she had flew away from Mumbai despite the fact that she knew she'll be back in few months from now.

“I gave the keys of our apartment to Jenny. She called for it and maybe she'll be using it even after we return.” that brought back Nandini to earth with confusion and anger along.

“And I guess you have emptied the streets for us to live as we get back here.” she mocked. Avi couldn't help but laugh at that out loud, irritating the angry bird beside him furthermore.

“You'll remain a bonehead forever. By the time we'll be back we must be married and our families would want us to move with them to upstate in Malhotra residence atleast until we get an apartment of our own there.” Avi unfolded a new information again and she couldn't do much other than letting out a sigh of exasperation, hitting her head on the seat back.

“Come here.” Avidaan pulled Nandini in a side hug. She readily shifted to his embrace hiding herself in his chest, expecting everything to settle down as they pull apart. Avi kissed her hairs which was a first time for both of them. Nandini snuggled closer and he smiled at that. The stuff that words couldn't do, this hug will do all that for them.

“Good now?” he asked her as she pulled away but leaving her head to rest on his shoulders. She did not reply but nodded in a yes, retiring for a little nap while Avi did not complain and let her be.

In the next three hours they were done with the customs and had boarded the flight to Munich and that was a seven hours and forty five minutes flight after which with a gap of three hours they have a connecting flight to Mumbai of eight hours.

The flights were going to exhaust them and so Avidaan's dad and uncle suggested him to take Nandini to his cousins' apartment and stay there for a day or two. Later they could shift to some hotel or Nandini's old house where she lived with her family till the time before she relocated to NYC and till the time her parents were with her who passed away in an accident as a result of which her uncle and aunt took her to NYC.

“What do you wish to have, sir and Ma'am?” the air hostess asked them politely but Nandini caught the way she was gawking at Avidaan and how she improvised on the 'sir' part was altogether a different story, at which Nandini couldn't help but chuckle.

“Excuse me.” the blonde girl seemed offended while Avi shook his head in disbelief at Nandini.

“Ahem.... I'll just have the cranberry juice and a veg sandwich.” Nandini first cleared her throat and told her, trying to suppress the chuckle that threatened to burst out of her mouth.

“Same for me and a bottle of water, please.” Avi told off his order in a dismissing tone that she caught right away and left.

“Girls around can just not have enough of me.” Avi boasted while Nandini broke into fits of laughter all over again. He made a face at that and turned away.

Avidaan couldn't help but wonder, could they ever slip out of the friend-zone and become a couple. Could Love blossom ever between them or was this decision going to end the friendship as well?
