Emma’s POV

“Robbie?”

I could hear his hard breaths from the other side.

Something was not right.

“I’m fine, really…” he whispered between his tachypnea “T-Tell me… how was the day?”

“Robert, where are you?”

“H-Home” he whispered “I miss you, Emma.”

I gulped “Robert… I miss you too” I whispered “Please promise me you’re fine”

I waited anxiously as he took his time replying

“Do not worry Emma” He finally said

I sighed, I talked to him for a long time and tried to push him into tell me what was wrong all the time. But he wouldn’t.

So, worried, after I hung up the phone, I quickly called Sophie.

“Hmmm?!” I heard her groaning to the phone “Do you know what time is it…?”

“I know, Sophie. But it’s important”

“Hmmm what’s wrong?”

“Could you… Something is up, Robert is not okay… could you… check up on him, please Sophie?”

“You’re cleaning the entire house for the next three weeks in a row, ALONE!” she said, jokingly

“Thank you Sophie” I half smiled

“Wait, gimme the address, I don’t know exactly where he lives”

“Alright”

Robert’s POV

Worthless.

Idiot.

You lied.

I held my head tight in my hands. It was agonizing.

I haven’t been like this for a long time.

“Argh…” I groaned

Ding Dong.

Did I really just hear that or is my mind lying to me again?

Ding Dong.

I took a deep breath and took my time walking to the main door, stopping to turn on and off all the lights, to open and close all the doors furiously.

“ROBERT?! I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE! IT’S ME! OPEN THE DOOR PLEASE!”

My eyes widened.

It was… Sophie?

What is she doing here?

I finally reached the door and opened it to see her.

“S-Sophie?”

She smiled at me “Am I welcomed to come in or what?”

My eyes widened as I realized I stood there looking at her for a long time.

“Uh, sorry… w-what… w-why are you here?”

“Well, Emma told me to make you some company. That’s what I’m doing”

I frowned.

I may be brain sick

But I’m not stupid.

“She t-told you to come” I sighed

“Robert… she was really worried”

“I’m fine!”
