You're on the softball team...

"You ever going to get a boyfriend?" one of your friends, Zara, asks you, nudging your shoulder. You and your team are stretching and warming up before a big game, and you have no clue why she decided it would be a good time to ask you this.
"Probably not," you reply, thinking of your girlfriend, Demi. Nobody knows that you like girls, much less that you have a girlfriend.
"Why not?" she asks, smiling slightly.
"Nobody I'm interested in," you tell her. She purses her lips.
"Lots of guys are interested in you," she responds, taking a hair tie off her wrist and tying up her short blonde hair.
"I'm not interested in them," you tell her, and she raises an eyebrow.
"What about Demi?" she questions, making you almost choke on air.
"What?"
"You're close with her. She dating anyone?" she asks, and you clear your throat.
"Um," you say, your voice going high. You clear your throat one more time before replying, "Yeah."
"Any idea who?"
"Why am I being interrogated?" you ask jokingly, but you're slightly panicked on the inside.
"I'm just curious," Zara tells you, and you can hear Lesbian Jesus' voice in your head "I'm just curious, is it serious?"
It's pretty serious, but you're not going to tell Zara that. Not yet, anyway.
"Well what about you?" you ask, trying to change the subject from you and your relationships to her and her boyfriend. She loves talking about him, and you're hoping she'll take the bait.
"Oh god, yesterday," she starts, and you feel a weight lifted off your shoulders as she begins to ramble about her boyfriend. You're free of the interrogation, and you're relieved.
You start getting yourself prepared for the big game, all thoughts of Zara and her incessant questions forgotten.
The game begins, and you quickly get in the zone. You're doing well—your team is winning. You're nearing the end of the game when you see someone familiar in the crowd. It's Demi. Your heart just about stops.
"Demi?" you mouth, and she smiles, waving to you.
"You got this," she says. You can read the words off her lips. You find yourself smiling, and you finish the game strong.
You win it for your team, and the crowd roars.
"Stop stop stop!" you shriek as your team lifts you up. "You're going to fucking drop me!"
"No we're not!" Zara yells, and you groan. But you're over the moon, honestly. You feel like you're on top of the world.
You look toward the crowd, and Demi's coming down onto the field.
"Demi!" you call, getting your team to let you down. You forget where you are and what's happening—you're too consumed with the need to hold her.
You run into her arms, and she laughs. "I'm so proud of you, baby!" she says by your ear, making you smile.
"I'm so glad you're here," you tell her, pulling away enough to look at her face.
Without even thinking, you lean in and press your lips to hers. She pulls you closer, and you let yourself melt into her. You tangle your hands in her hair, and she bites your bottom lip gently. Her hands slide down your body, resting on your hips.
By the time you pull away, your entire team has fallen silent. You're brought crashing back down to Earth, and your cheeks flush as you pull away from Demi.
"Yeah, so this is my girlfriend," you say, feeling slightly panicked and nervous. "I'm gay! Surprise!"
You just came out to your entire school and the crowd. But honestly, you're actually relieved that it's all out in the open.
"I'm also a gay. We love the gay way," Demi adds, making you snort.
You see Zara stifle a laugh, and you have a feeling she already knew. Yeah, she knew. That look she's giving you is pretty clear.
It feels like something huge has been pulled off your chest. You put an arm around Demi.
She kisses your cheek lightly, making your face warm.
"I love you," she whispers by your ear.
You look to her and meet her eyes. "I love you more."
She raises an eyebrow. "Impossible."

This was kinda light-hearted but it's nice to have that kind of thing sometimes
