Hugh brushed his hair.

Looked in the mirror for the hundredth time and sighed.

Since he had fallen for Joan, he would get very conscious of the way he looked, and would always get worried about the fact that whether the impression he created on her was good or bad.

And here he was, on his way to apologize to her again.

Women could be so...

Hugh blanched. His thoughts would surely affect his mannerisms one day.

Hugh readied himself and as he came down, he ran into his butler.

"Lord Hugh" the butler said "Miss Joan is waiting for you in the drawing room."

"What?" Hugh was surprised.

He ran to the drawing room, and there she was.

The queen of his heart.

Sitting in a restless position, with an excited face.

Hugh frowned. Excited?

"Joan I'm sorry-"

"We will talk about that later!" Joan said "I have some great news!"

"What?" Hugh asked.

"I know who the culprit is" Joan said and smiled.

"Who, pray tell me!" Hugh screamed.

"Stephanie!" Joan announced "who was George's lover!"
"OH MY GOD!" Hugh screamed again and fell on the sofa "how do you know?"

Joan took out the red book from her purse and showed it to him and told him everything that had transpired earlier in the day and also about the 'revenge' part of her diary.

"Oh my" Hugh whispered "God saved you."

"I am really lucky. All thanks to George too!" Joan said.

Hugh stood and caught Joan's arm and said "let's go to Billfield now. We should not waste any time."

Joan agreed, and they both were on their way.

To cleanse the grim off Joan's life and to carve a niche of her future.
