~ Grammar Focus:
쯤 is added to nouns denoting numbers, quantities, and time to indicate approximation. It corresponds to ‘about’ or ‘around’ in English.
In Conversation:
A 내일 몇 시쯤 만말까요? A At about what time shall we meet tomorrow? B 1시쯤 어때요. B How’s around 1 o’clock? 수업이 12시 50분에 끝나요 My class ends at 12:50.
A 학교에서 집까지 얼마나 걸려요? A How long does it take you to get to school from home? B 버스로 30분쯤 걸려요. B It takes me about 30 minutes by bus.
A 한국에 언제 오셨어요? A When did you come to Korea? B 1년 전쯤 왔어요. B I came about a year ago.

When referring to approximate prices, ‘Noun’ is used more often then ‘Noun.’
A 사과가 요즘 얼마쯤 해요? About how much are apple these days? B 요즘 3개에 2,000원쯤 해요. Recently they cost about 2,000 won for three.
A 중국까지 비행기 표가 얼마쯤 해요? About how much is the airfare to China? B 글쎄요, 300,000원쯤 할 거예요. Um, it will probably cost around 300,000 won.
