This / That / That
~ These are used for indicating objects like indicative pronouns. - 이것 (i-geos) is used when nearby objects are indicated by the speaker. example: 이것은 아좋습니다. (this is very good.) (this is a book.)
- 그것 (gu-geos) is used when objects are close to the listener and far from the speaker, or they have been mentioned already or known. example: 그것은 저에게 주십시오.(give it to me.) (it is coffee.)
- 저것 (jeo-geos) is used when objects are placed at a distance both from the listener and speaker. example: 저것은 누구의 모자입니까? (Whose cap is that?) (That is a chair.)
+ 것 (geot) Identifies what is the 'item' or 'thing' is.
but if the thing or the item is already known, ~것 (geot) is already dropped. example: 이 책입니다. (this is the book.) (that's coffee.) (that's the chair.)
(Subject Marker) This is the subject postposition to indicate that the former noun is the subject of the sentence. When there is no final consonant, it joins with '-가', otherwise it joins with '-이'. When it joins with '저', '나' the personal pronoun ''~가'' becomes '제가' and '내가'. example: 이것이 연필입니다. (This is a pencil.) (She is my mother.) (I'll buy the movie ticket.)
