2010년: 이천십 년, 1998년: 천구백구십팔 년, 1864년: 천팔백육십사 년

몇 월? (What Month?)

며칠? (What Day?)

무슨 요일? (What Day of the Week?)

In Conversation:

A 오늘이 며칠이에요? A What’s today’s date? B 5월 5일 (오월 오일)이에요. B It’s May 5.

A 오늘이 무슨 요일이에요? A What day of the week is today? B 화요일이에요. B It’s Tuesday.

A 언제 결혼했어요? A When did you get married? B 2001년(이천일 년)에 결혼했어요. B We got married in 2001.

Note:

1. The Korean word for June and October are read and written as 유월 and 시월, respectively, not 육월 and 십월.

2. When asking “what year”, 몇 년 is used, and when asking “what month”, 몇 월 is used. However, when asking “what day”, 며칠 is used in place of 몇일.

· 오늘이 몇일이에요? (x) → 오늘이 며칠이에요? (o) What is today’s date?
