KABANATA 15

Ilang beses akong sumilip at pagkatapos ay nagtago uli bago humugot nang hininga sa labas ng isang practice hall. Matapos ang insidente sa loob ng Dean's office, pinayuhan ako ni Dean Serenio na sumali sa isang club para raw hindi na ako ma-isolate uli at maiwasan ang ganoong pangyayari.

"You can gain friends faster this way," I remembered him saying.

Mula rin noon, hindi na ako hinahayaang mag-isa ng kambal. Lagi nila akong sinasamahan kahit saan at kahit anong oras. And everytime we're together, they'd always insist that I join their Basketball Club. Dumadalas naman ang pagsabay sa amin ni Himura. Sumasali siya sa aming lamesa tuwing lunch break at minsan nagdadala pa siya ng mga pagkaing hinanda ng kanyang ina. At katulad ng kambal na Yazaki, sinusubukan niya rin akong kumbensihing sumali sa kanilang House of Tea.

"I'm pretty sure you'd find the ambience very relaxing," he said and the twins rebuffed about the great things I'd enjoy if I join their club instead.

Ngayong palagi ko na silang kasama, hindi ko na masyadong nakikita iyong lalaking may berdeng mata. Mula na rin noong araw na kinausap siya ni Gene, kahit na nagkakasalubong kami sa daan, isang tango o hindi kaya ay mabilis na pagbati na lang ang natatanggap ko galing sa kanya. Tumigil na rin ang kanyang mga texts at tawag. Hindi na rin siya naghihintay sa may main entrance. My chest would constrict at the thought that he was finally tired of me but because of my new found company, the pain became bearable.

It was during one of those lunches I shared with the trio when two students approached us.

"Moritake-san?" Said the man with a long hair, carefully tied and collected on one side of his shoulders, "I'm David Futaba, the manager of the Kendou Club," he introduced himself before slightly bowing before us as did the person behind him.

Tumayo ako at bahagya ring yumuko para batiin ito.

"It has come to our Shishou's knowledge the excellent kendou skills you've showcased behind the gym in defeating those kyuudou senpai. And he wanted to express his deepest wish that you join our club," he said.

It was very tempting to accept the invitation since I've been wanting to practice the arts with a Master and a sparring partner but, I was sure that those brothers were two of their valued members. This was the very reason why I haven't said yes to the twins' suggestion. If I could, I wouldn't cross paths with them until I was ready, until I knew that I was strong enough.

Hihindian ko na sana iyong lalaki nang mapansin iyong kasama niya at nakilala bilang iyong nakasalaming babae sa CR na sinubukan akong ipagtanggol laban kina Desiree!

"Ah, it's you!" Bigla kong sabi.

Agad na nagtago iyong babae sa likod ng kanyang kasama. Ilang beses namang napakurap iyong lalaki at sinilip ang aking tinutukoy.

"Oh, I forgot that you're with me, Miyu. I'm sorry," sabi ng lalaki, "This is Miyu. She's one of the girls in our club—"

"Sasali ako!" Walang pagdadalawang-isip kong sabi nang nakataas ang kanan kong kamay.

"Ha?!" Magkakasabay na bulalas ng tatlo kong kasama.

Back then I wasn't really thinking things through. All I knew was that I've finally found that girl I wanted to befriend so much. And I just thought that this time, I wanted to do it right.
