Chapter 23: Run

"Jennie.."

"That's the last thing I want my brother to worry about. Mr.Moon is already after the guys"

Your eyebrows furrowed.

"Jennie...Who is Mr. Moon?"

She looked at you with parted lips. You stared at the girl with eyes full of anticipation. Jennie only had fear in hers.

"H..he's"

"GET DOWN!"

The same traumatizing sound of a bullet being fired echoed. It had just missed you and Jennie by hitting the tree that was only a few inches away. Everything felt like it was slow motion and the sound of ringing was heard in your ears. You only heard the distinctive sound of people around screaming for their lives. You looked around and saw the people screaming and running towards their loved ones.. Turning your head to look at Jennie who tightly held her hands against her ears, eyes clenched shut. Her body trembled violently.

Her eyes slowly opened and looked up at you. "Y/N....what's happening?" her voice sounded eerie. More gunshots were heard in the distance. You turned your head and saw exactly what Namjoon was afraid of happening. Yoongi stood behind a tree as cover from the bullets that were being fired at him.

Jungkook was fighting with a man with his fists only. As you looked at the boys in the distance Yoongi made eye contact with you. You tilted his head as you tried to catch on what he was saying. He voice was overpowered by the ringing.

You noticed the frustration on his face. Your eyes moved to look at the man who was wearing all black, walking towards him. The ringing in your ear softened and your ear finally went away and you were finally able to hear every single sound from the distance. "Get Down!" Your eyes moved quickly to look at Yoongi. The man stopped in his steps and looked at who Yoongi was warning.

You.

Your eyes met his dark and venomous ones. The look he gave you sent a chill down your spine. You focused on his face for a few seconds, he gave you one of the most bone chilling smirks. You can say it beat Jimin's.

The man slowly raised his arm...aiming a gun directly at you and Jennie.

You looked at Yoongi in a millisecond.

"GET DOWN!"

You grabbed Jennie before you realised. Pushing her down along with yourself only to hear the bullet hit the metal of the bench you were once sitting on. You held her head as she cried. The aound of more gunfire was heard. After minutes of gunfire there was absolutely silence.

You peeped up from the bench to see Yoongi was gone along with Jungkook. Only the bodies of them that tried to kill them were laying on the grass.

Sirens were heard in the distance.

"Jennie, I need you to stop crying" the girl looked up at you with glossy and red eyes. You held both of her cheeks to calm her down. "Look at me. We are getting out of here alive, together..Okay?" You felt a lump in your throat as those words came from your mouth.

"Sungyeol.....I need you to take a deep breath" you whispered. He stared at his father in horror not being able to speak. You slowly raised your hand placing it gently on your father's neck.

He was breathing.

It was barely strong but the pulse was still there. You closed your eyes in relief. Letting out a breath. You removed your flannel quietly placing it on your father's wound. You looked back up at your panicked brother; grabbing one of his hand making his press the flannel to stop the blood. You held both of his cheeks to calm him down.
