Chaos

I stood outside my daughter's door, a bag held in one hand a few boxes balanced on my head.

If you're wondering why I don't just use my powers to have them hover or something...

Well this is just more fun.

I knocked lightly on the door, attempting to not drop the boxes.

Needless to say I failed.

But I did catch them with my powers.

Okay one more knock. Then I'll go in.

My daughter may be over five thousand years old but she's still a teenager.

And I know very well how guys are.

Knocking again I waited.

Okay. Okay. I warped inside, prepared for the worst.

Just to see Percy and Luke curled up in the bed.

But...Percy seemed to be in the midst of a nightmare.

Tossing around she softly cried out.

Dropping the stuff I knelt by the bed and gently ran a hand through her hair.

"Sh. Your safe. I'm safe. Not your fault. Nothing was your fault." I whispered in her ear.

Eyes flittering open she stared at me.

"Dad?" She yawned and tried to sit up.

Only to fail because of Luke's arms tightly wrapped around her waist.

"How come he didn't wake up?" I asked, looking at the son of Hermes.

Percy frowned slightly. "Wasn't getting good enough sleep. I took his nightmares for him."

I sighed. Of course. "You are too good for him."

She rolled her eyes. "You'd say that about any guy."

I smiled and kissed her forehead. "True."

"I thought you'd approve of him. After all you've known him for five thousand years." She said, lightly rubbing Luke's arm.

Moving so I was sitting on my heels, I folded a wing around myself.

My little daughter is growing up.

"Yeah. Well. It's a rule that dad's can't approve of their daughter's boyfriends. Cause then if we say we approve of one..."

"We'll most likely find a guy you don't approve of." Percy finished.

I nodded.

I really want to show her this stuff so...

I gestured my hand at Luke and he disappeared.

No. I did not just throw my daughter's boyfriend into oblivion.

I just put him in his own bed.

Percy sat up stretching.

"Is there a reason you came? Or is this just an overprotective dad thing?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yes actually. I brought you something for the dance you've been oh so looking forward to."

The bag was now in my hand along with the boxes. Standing I hung the bag over the changing partition.

"Really Dad?" She asked looking at it.

"What? It's classy."

"If I succumb to this torture will you leave me alone?" She asked.

"No."
