One Month Later

LAUREN'S POV

"Finals are next week, since I know none of you will be studying we'll be spending next Monday going over this semester before the test on Wednesday. If you don't know the schedule, look it up." Y/N sarcastically smiled at the class as she finished writing the testing schedule on the board. "Or feel free to take a picture if you must." The bell rang signaling the end of school for the week so everybody rushed out of the room leaving the teacher and I. She sighed and walked over to me with a charming smile plastered on her face. I watched as she leaned down over me as I was still sitting in my seat, placing her hands on either side of me on the desk behind me so her face was level with mine.

I was quick to wrap my arms around her neck but other than that none of us dared to move. Y/N's smile slowly faded from her lips as her dark Y/E/C eyes danced across my face. I couldn't help but blush under her gaze and look down at the ground, my head now leaned up against the taller girl's chin. I felt a peck on my forehead before Y/N stood up to walk over to her desk. She gathered the papers and assignments she needed to grade before putting them in her bag so we could get ready to leave. I pulled on my sweater in preparation for the much colder winter weather we were about to face. Y/N and I had become accustomed to waiting after the final bell before we could to prevent the chance that people would see us together. "Actually, can you help me set up in the back please." Y/N's voice knocked me out of my daze. I nodded my head and followed her to the back room where she got out a gray backdrop from the assortment she had.

Working in Ally's studio and helping around here with Y/N I learned a lot in how to set up backdrops and everything related to what was needed in the scene. It took no time at all to get the backdrop up to where Y/N gave a lopsided smile in my direction. "Why did you need this up?" I asked as Y/N wrapped an arm around my waist. She looked up at the backdrop with a sigh.

"The yearbook people asked me to take pictures of the special needs kids for this year's addition." She spoke quietly, her voice smooth. I nodded my head before leaning against the taller girl. Her hand snuck under my chin and soon enough I felt her soft lips mold against mine effortlessly. Immediately my body relaxed at the feeling and I couldn't help but smile throughout the kiss. "C'mon," Y/N pulled away from the kiss. "Let's go home." She grabbed my hand to place a kiss on it before she bounded out of the room to get her stuff. I couldn't help but giggle at the action as I too went to gather my things. Y/N's cell phone rang causing her to pause so that she could answer. "Hello?" I stopped to watch her but the taller girl held out her car keys to me. "Head out to the car I'll be right there." She rushed me out of the room after I saw her jaw clench.

I gave her the privacy and left even though I didn't want to. There were only a couple students left in the building, with no one in the parking lot. I slid into Y/N's car when I got to it and started it so it'd be warm in the winter coldness. I rubbed my hands together to warm them up and I was honestly expecting Y/N to come out right behind me but as I looked at the clock I saw that about five minutes had passed. The car was completely warmed up now and music played softly in the background. Another five minutes had passed until a distressed Y/N finally emerged out of the school with her things. She ran her right hand through her Y/H/C hair which then gave it a tousled look. Even though she was obviously stressed out I could help but acknowledge the fact that she looked undeniably attractive right now.

When she got to the car she threw her belongings in the back before sliding into the driver's seat with a sigh. I really didn't want to further her stress so I stayed quiet, but eventually when we had started off out of the parking lot I grabbed Y/N's hand in an effort to calm her down. I was glad to see Y/N's lips twitch up in a small smile at the contact and she even gave a grateful squeeze of her hand in appreciation. I couldn't help but lean my head against the taller girl's shoulder as she drove. The ride was silent but it wasn't awkward at all. Light rain started to fall from the sky right as we reached Y/N's house. Thunder could be heard in the distance as the two of us made our way inside but the Y/E/C eyed girl slumped onto the couch without taking her jacket off. "God I fucking hate my mom." She mumbled into the cushions.
