you know how in stories the main character controls the fate of the universe or some shit like that?
well what if the main character of this story, was their friend.
like this person is talking to our main character over the phone like "oh my god you won't BELIEVE all the monsters i had to fight today" and our main character is just thinking "oh wow everything exciting happens to you, doesn't it? seriously the only thing i fought today was a math test" but what they really say is just "oh wow" or some shit like that
