"Thanks for taking me out, you didn't have to." I told kian, as I sat at our assigned table at tatemono, a very popular sushi restaurant. Today was all you can eat Friday, and I can't fucking wait because I love sushi. A waiter came up to our table, and placed a piece of paper, with their whole menu on it, so we could check mark the things we wanted.

"Seaweed salad?" He asked me, and I nodded. Kian cringed, and laughed.

"What? You don't like seaweed salad?" I teased, and he shook his head vigorously.

"Not even a little bit. But I will get a garden salad..." He replied, checking the option off. I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Very exotic." I joked , lightly pushing his arm. he looked at me and chuckled.

"I'm really glad that we gave this relationship a go." Kian said, without looking into my eyes. He was too busy being confused as to what too pick. I rolled my eyes, and grabbed the pencil and sheet of paper, and ordered for us.

"Me too." I replied honestly.

"I'm not used to this." I finally admit after two long minutes of silence. The waiter came back, took our paper, and stalked off.

"Used to what?"

"This. Dating. No one really... Likes me." I sighed. Why am I telling him this? This was supposed to be a fresh start. Kian shifted curiously in his seat.

"How could no one like you?" he gaped, and I tried really hard not to smile. I thought he would have shot me down, and left... Or something. That's what usually happens when I meet someone for the first time. Except for the boys. They stayed with me.

"Ever since third grade." I shrugged, and sipped my water that was brought to me earlier. Kian sighed.

"That's harsh. You're the coolest girl I've met in a long time." Kian said, looking into my eyes this time.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Ever since my ex-girlfriend Joan." An emotion i couldn't really identify, flashed through his eyes momentarily.

"What happened?" I asked, my curiosity getting the best of me. Kian shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and looked everywhere but me.

"She died." He answered flatly. My eyes flickered to the floor, my hand detaching my from drink. Thankfully, it didn't spill.

"We were taking a stroll across the park, and there were some kids that were making a lot of noise... They were just being so cute, and I let go of her hand for just a second to look at them.." I can't believe what I'm hearing. My eyes start to tear up. If I ever lost anybody i love like that, I don't know how I would feel.

"I swear I heard her squeal... I thought she was being impatient... I didn't even turn around to look at her. When I turned around the next minute, she was gone." He continued. I wiped under my eyes, and waited patiently for him to finish his story.

"I thought she went home, until I got a call a few days later saying that a missing person was found, and the ID in the wallet read Joan Kaylen. That was her." He finished. I just want to hug him right now.

"I'm so sorry." I don't know why I'm apologizing, but I feel the to do so anyways.

"I won't go into the details, because we're eating soon... So.." He trailed off, and I bit my lip. Where is that damned food? I want to hear what happened to her, but I guess now isn't the time.

The waiter finally came with our plates with sushi. I taught kian how to eat with chop sticks because he was just stabbing his sushi, and it was falling apart. We laughed, and we talked. I found out that his parents were divorced, but his dad died a few years ago. He has an older sister, and a younger brother. I decided not too talk as much, in case I let something slip.

My phone rang out its familiar tune, indicating that someone was calling me. I looked at the caller ID. shit.

"Sorry..." I mumbled, and picked up the phone.

"Hi mom..." I whispered into the phone. I don't want to waste too much time on this phone call. All my attention should be focused on kian.

"Hi honey. Where are you?" She wondered, and I sighed.

"I told you I was on a date tonight..." I said much louder, but quiet enough for only kian to hear. I heard a long sigh coming from the other end of the line, and I rolled my eyes. I held up my finger to kian, too say that I'll only be a minute longer.

"God damnit Chanel, if you so much as touch the guy tonight..." She warned, and I rolled my eyes. The heat to my cheeks surfaced, and I started to whisper again.

"I won't mom. I promise." I then hung up, and looked back to kian.

"I'm so sorry about that... Continue what you were saying?" I pleaded. All I want is the embarrassment and redness of my cheeks to go away. Stupid mom.

"I'm sorry, actually... I've been talking about myself all evening. And what about you?" He asked. Fuck. He put his hands under his chin, focusing on me intently.

My phone rang again, and I even considered chucking the thing out the damned window.

"Hello?" I seethed into the phone, giving an apologetic look too kian, who just leaned back in his chair.

"Chanel!" Louis cheered into the phone. Is he drunk?

"You're drunk, aren't you?"

He confirmed my thoughts, while slurring his speech. I looked over at kian, who stared at his hands that we're resting on the table.

"God Louis... I can't talk right now... I am on a date with someone... Can I talk to you later?" I pleaded. I don't want to keep kian waiting anymore. After this I'm turning off my phone.

"What?"

"Sorry I have to go." I whispered into the receiver, and turned off my phone.

"Shit, sorry about all that." I apologized, taking a bite of my California roll.

He shook his head, telling me that it was no big deal, and I proceeded to tell him everything good that's happening, rather than the bad.

"She's on a date with that Kyle guy.." I seethed. I don't know why I've taken a liking to Chanel, I just have. By the day it's growing stronger and I don't know what to fucking say or do that will make her fall for me the same way.

"It's alright mate, this could end terribly, you never know." zayn rubbed my back, and I took another vodka mixed with rum shot. Yeah, we're going hardcore tonight.

Apple martinis, lots of shots, (lots... Our table is full) and many, many scotch on the rocks with a twist. Oh, and not to mention good ol' Canadian style beer. Not as good as American beer, but it's not bad.

I grumbled. I don't want it to end terribly. She has enough shit in her life. I just want her to be with me. In three days, we leave for Vancouver... And I don't think I want to leave this place.

"Thanks for taking me out tonight..." We just approached my front steps, awkwardly waiting outside my door. I tucked some of my dirty blonde hair behind my ear. I could tell I was blushing, so it's a good things it's dark.

"No problem." He replied. This is supposed to be the awkward part of the date, right? There is no telling who should kiss who first, and if we should kiss at all?

Kian leaned in. Oh. He pecked my lips, and i smiled at him before I went inside my house.
