"I'm sorry to say this Mr. Montecort but... there's no fetus in her womb. Your wife is not pregnant."

No.

Napasandal ako sa pader. I closed my eyes to prevent myself from crying.

Tangina. Gusto kong magwala!!

Nasuntok ko yung pader sa sobrang galit ko. Sa sobrang disappointment ko.

I faced the doctor. "She... is so damn pregnant with my baby. How can you say that our little angel disappeared all of a sudden!?!"

"If you just follow me, I'll explain everything to you. First of all, HINDI buntis ang asawa mo. We conducted blood tests on her and it states that she's not pregnant."

"THEN RERUN THE TEST! DO ALL TYPES OF TESTS ON HER IF POSSIBLE!"

Nagsimula ng maglakad yung doktor at nakasunod lang ako sa kanya. "Bloods tests can't lie. If her blood result states that she is not pregnant, she is definitely not."

Napahinto ako sa paglalakad at nakuyom ko yung kamay ko. I gritted my teeth.

Umasa lang ba talaga ako na magkakaanak na kami? Pinaasa ko lang yung sarili ko sa pag-aakalang magiging tatay na ako.

ANG TANGA KO!

P-pero... what about her symptoms? Yung mga symptoms na yun ang dahilan kung bakit naniwala ako na buntis sya.

I kept on walking hanggang sa makasunod na ako sa doktor. We went in a small office. She sat on her chair and I sat on one of the two chairs in front of her table.

Naglabas sya ng folder. Hospital record, I think.

"Okay. To be honest, what we found on her blood test result is not about her pregnancy. It's about... something else. Something very serious."

I got confused. "What do you mean?"

"Now, if you let me ask some questions, I can confirm it later on. So please cooperate with me." Naglabas sya ng ballpen at binuksan yung folder na nasa harap nya. "What have you observed on her eating behavior this past weeks?"

Napaisip ako. Tss. "She sometimes crave for a certain food. Pero lumalakas lang yung appetite nya pag maggagabi na."

"Mahilig ba syang kumain ng junk food?"

I sighed. "Yes."

"Okay. That's it for now. I may call you for further questions."

"Wait... I have a question. Bakit sya biglang hinimatay? Is she severely sick?"

"We can't say that for now. Pero may pinakain ka ba sa kanya o pinainom bago sya himatayin?"
