CHAPTER SIX

Arianne and Trelainne were hiding behind some dustbins at the end of the alley behind the Dining Room. It was windy and Trelainne was having difficulty with her hair. She started to moan, “What a great idea this was, ‘Wait for another waitress to end her shift then we can talk to her’. I’ve had three people tip garbage on me so far.”

Arianne peeped over the bins, “Stop talking rubbish, you didn’t have a better idea. If you had asked for the missing waitresses name then we wouldn’t have to do this.”

“I’m ruining my new shoes.”

“Get it back on expenses and get a grip while you’re at it.”

A woman dressed in a waitresses outfit exited the rear door of the Dining Room.

“Here,” said Arianne, “tidy yourself up.”

The woman walked past. Arianne coughed a little, “Uh hum!”

“Ooh you scared me,” said the woman.

Arianne apologised, “Sorry, we wanted to ask you a question.”

“I bet you want to know where I got my new shoes.”

“Well actually,” said Arianne.

“Well actually, yes,” said Trelainne, “they look wonderful.”

“I got them from Galton and Simpsons in town.”

“Erm,” interrupted Arianne, “we really wanted to know what the name was of the missing waitress.”
