"A horse."

"How can a photograph prove that a horse was a bribe?" asked Sid, "If they are just standing near a horse that doesn't prove anything."

"Oh," said Tucson. Then he went over to a box on the stable wall and retrieved a photograph. "Here," he handed it to Arthur.

The picture showed Tony 'Two Toes' standing next to Mayor Ninovitch and handing him the reins of the horse.

"I do not think this picture could prove on its own that Tony 'Two Toes' gave the mayor the horse as a bribe. It might also need your eyewitness statement to do that."

"That's as maybe but it would throw up a lot of questions if it was published in the newspapers."

"Is that all you have?"

"Yes," replied Tucson.

"Well at least we have some kind of evidence that the Mayor is corrupt," said Sid.

"Thanks anyway," said Arthur, "it is nice to know that members of the public are against crime and corruption."

"Yeah," drawled Tucson as he went back over to the cupboard with the photo, "the Mayor wouldn't let me extort money from him the last time I tried to blackmail him."

Sid, Arthur and Fawh all got back into the car. When Arthur drove away he found out that the brakes worked properly, "Well look at that, the brakes work!"

"I fixed them," said I, "after all, you did imply that I was a good Author."

Arthur clenched his lips then drove on to the office.
