3TS: The Chances of Starting Again

Wish

Wishes don't just come true. They come true when you work for them.

The last words were simply spoken. Simply said. But yet, it was still ringing in my ears like the greatest love song ever.

My heart beat fast. My cheeks suddenly felt warm. My hands tingled.

I didn't speak. I didn't say a word.

I suddenly turned around to face him, but then he was too close. I hit his head, and he hit mine.

At the same time, we put a hand to our head, wincing from the pain.

The feeling of intensity was over. I looked at him. He looked at me. And we both laughed.

After a moment, we were silent. 

He was hilarious. Corny. Sweet. Brave. 

I had so many memories with him. He had less memories with me. But this...

I will never forget this night.

My mind was whirling, even if I looked calm. Emotions were mixing inside of me. Excited. Shy. Embarrassed from hitting his head accidentally.

The only thing that gave away what I was feeling inside was my smile.

And with that, he gave me the biggest smile ever.

The world seemed to ring with soft bells around me as I looked at him in a new light.

He was looking at me. He was smiling at me. He liked me.

He likes me.

It felt so unreal, Journal. Right then, I couldn't believe it. Staring at him. Blinking at him. Was this all a dream?

He stood up, offering his hand to me as he spoke, "Krissa, would you care to dance with me...inside?" He said, as he held up a key with one hand, while holding his guitar in the other.

I couldn't help but laugh. Juan was part of it. Trent had wanted me to come and meet him outside (step one), in which 'locking the door' was step two. Step three was getting me to sit by him. Step four was to make me realize he liked me.

Step five...

When I felt his hand in mine, it all felt like a dream. But when we took three steps toward the school doors, then five, then eight, the fact stood. The truth hit me.

We were holding hands.

I looked up at the stars, gazing at the exact star Arlene had wanted me to wish on. Now, I had a good wish.

Starlight, Starbright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight:

Maybe...just maybe...me and Trent could end up together.

I said in my head. Suddenly, something silver caught my eye. And I couldn't help but pause and look back.

Ria. Ria was there. Looking after me from afar off as she sat in her tricycle.

Trent kept walking, but I looked at Ria. Then I smiled to her, waving to her in the process.

She smiled back as she readjusted her sunglasses. Soon, she started up her tricycle (in which had several burn marks, but all-in-all was perfectly fine) and started down the road.

I could see her clearly as she roared down the road, holding something in her hand. A small silver card. A new silver card. Another passenger.

A new beginning. 

Ria kissed the card, probably hoping it would bring the next best passenger.

Then, as she turned the corner, with her long wavy hair blowing with the wind, she let go of that small silver card.

She disappeared, Journal, but I could still see the silver card move with the wind, finding its way to the next passenger who will embark on the greatest journey of their lives.

"What are you looking at?" Trent said as he came up again beside me.

I didn't realize I was smiling with small tears falling down my cheeks until I found Trent was looking at me. Wiping them away, I turned to Trent, "Something I will never forget."

With that, I put my arm in his, hoping that my story (that this Journal) will close with a happy ending.

And it just did.
