Being totally unsmooth, I avoid eye contact and quickly whisper "Um, hi", walking towards the exit, without even waiting for her.
I open the back door of the car for her, then slide in behind, leaving a good 3 ft. between us on the leather seats.
After sitting for a few minutes in silence while I tried to regain my cool, I finally say, "You look great but you should have worn something more comfortable" coming out much more rudely than I had intended.
