New Beginning

Chapter 5

"Thanks guys."

We walk in and am immediately met by the pounding bass, flashing lights, and writhing bodies that surround us. Someone grabs my shoulder and I jump. I look up and see it's Lyric. He motions towards the bar where I see Rose fending off the advances of a man. Before we walk up Toby, who by the way, has blue hair, tattoos and piercings walks up to the man and talks to him. The man holds his hands up and walks away. Toby kisses Rose's cheek and she turns around and continues working. Lyric walks up to Toby and they walk off upstairs. I sit down and whistle to Rose. "You know you're gorgeous, right?" I say with her facing away from me. I smile as I see her sigh in frustration.

"Honey, I have a boyfriend." She says still facing away from me.

"So? He can join if he wants. I'm up for anything as long as you're involved." My smile gets wider as I continue talking.

"No thanks. I don't swing- Holy shit! Lavender!"

I start laughing. "Hey babe."

"You're a bitch. You know that, right?" She says smiling.

"So I'm told." She walks to where she's in front of me and takes out a piece of paper from under the bar.

"Here ya go. This is for you."

"Thank you very much."

"Did you get your phone situation fixed?"

"Of course. It's the same number. Just text me your number later." She nods.

"Hey Rose! Stop talking. I need you to give drinks out!" Aaron yells from the other end of the bar.

She leans over and whispers in my ear. "Your future brother in law can be an ass sometimes."

"What? Rose!" She laughs and walks down to Aaron.

I shake my head and watch her make a couple drinks. She walks back over to me. "Don't you think I didn't notice you're wearing one of Lyric's shirts. That's the first step until a full blown relationship."

"Oh my god. Shut up."

She sticks her tongue out. "I'm not the one wearing the boy's clothes."

"My bruises were showing, okay? He gave it to me to cover them up."

"Mhmm. Sure. Use what happened last night as an excuse." I stand up.

"Shut up and go back to work. I'm gonna go upstairs. I'll see you later."

"Alright hun. Tell Toby when he's done playing around to get his ass down here."

I laugh. "I will."

I walk upstairs and see Toby sitting on a couch by his self. He has fallen asleep. I fall down onto the couch and he jumps. "Holy crap." He looks over at me. "Oh. Hey Lavender."

"Hey Toby. What's up?"

He shakes his head. "Had a long day at the store."

I nod. Toby works at him father's music store. "Where's Lyric and Danny?"

"In Danny's office. The back one I believe."

"Okay. Rose said for you to come back downstairs." He sighs.

"Alright. Thanks. I'll see ya."

"Hey Toby?"

He turns and looks at me. "Yeah?"

"I'm gonna come by the store tomorrow to purchase some new music for Rose's sister's party Saturday."

"Alright. I'll be there." He walks downstairs. I stand up and start walking around and go towards Danny's back office. We have multiple offices and rooms upstairs that are used for different things. When I get about halfway down the hall I hear someone talking. It sounds like Lyric.
