".  .  ."
Henry frowned,crossing his arms,
"I'm not joking!"
"I never said you were."
Melody said quietly, she carefully walked toward the jars, observing the green mush inside the glass, without warning, one of the jar's lid spun open and the goop grew larger and engulfed Melody into a tight, suffocating grip.Melody cried out as the creature slowly tightened it's grip around her, lifting her up.
"WHAT'S IT DOING!?"
"Now do you believe me?"
"Huh?"

Henry unfolded his arms and looked up the scene,
"Mom you can let go now."
The green material gently carried Melody down and released her onto her feet.It made an odd bubbling sound before slipping back into the glass.Henry pointed to the jar,
"That's my mother and-"
He pointed to the other one on the right,
"That's my dad."
"Woah! How did it happen? It's kinda weird."
Henry looked away and shook his head, folding his arms again. He wasn't going to tell her.Melody nodded and walked out of the room,
"Say,any siblings around here?"

Henry walked out, carrying both jars,he placed them on the floor, where they rolled away, each to one desk.He shoved his hands into his pockets, not saying anything. He hesitated before he shook his head again,
"I. . .I did have a younger sister.She's gone though."
"Sorry about that.My dad and brother's were killed when I turned ten."
"Fletcher?"
"Yup!Same with you?"
Henry's eyes casted a shadow as he frowned angrily,
"Correct.She was only a baby!"
Henry said venomously, raising his voice.Melody walked next to him, very timidly, afraid to make him more annoyed, she reached out and took his hand.

He flinched, looked down, but he didn't snatch his hand back.Melody looked down and frowned skeptically as the gloved hand felt calloused and unnaturally rough. Was that. . .a burn?Putting only two and half together, she quickly let go of Henry's hand.
"Sorry?"
"Why are you here?"
"I-"
Melody sighed and crossed her arms,
"I wanted to ask. . .if you'd consider helping me with-"
"Only chosen people with powers like yours can defeat Anthrolus Fletcher.I'd just get in your way.We can't help each other Melody."
Henry said monotonously,Melody's heart sank slightly, she nodded and put her arms behind her back.

"May I use the bathroom?"
"Over there."
He pointed to a small doubled door room.Melody nodded and mumbled Thank you's before walking to the white painted doors.Henry sighed and looked up at the plant again, and then to his hands.Raising them above his face,he cringed slightly and grasped his arms, trying to block out the memories of countless horrible days.

"Poppy!Get over here!Henry's hurt himself again!"
A man, holding a young, crying boy, rushed over to a red haired woman. She took her son and placed him on the table, examining his red hands,
"First your eyes now-you need to take better care of yourself Henry!"
"Can y-you just fix m-m-my hands please mom?"
The boy whimpered tearfully.

He reached up and his gloved hands brushed his face near his eyes.

"Tobias!It's Henry!His eyes are bleeding!"
The man rushed over to his screaming son,who was covering his eyes as steaming blood rolled out of the melting sockets.
"Bring him over here quick!Wheres the baby?"
"She's fine,I'll go check on her.Fix him up!Hurry!"

Henry inhaled sharply, clenching his fists. If only he hadn't been such a scuff up as a kid,he'd have his entire vision and he wouldn't be so insecure of his injured hands. His parents would be normal human beings as well.He flinched as the buzzer sounded, someone else was outside. He turned and walked to the speaker,
"Hello?How can I help you?"
"You can help by letting us in Henry Weathers."
A man said smartly,Henry froze at the voice. It was Fletcher's second squadron's captain. Why were they here?Oh wait!He has the daughter of a Goddess in his lab!Oh how could he forget!?

"U-uhm?Gimme a s-second."
Henry pressed the button and walked away, running to the doors and quickly knocking,he sighed in relief as Melody called out to him,
"Henry?You ok?"
"The Military has shown up!I think they're here for you!"
"Aw are you shitting me?"
"No.No I'm not."
