I could feel her accelerated heartbeat, accompanied by a nervous smile and a blush on her face. Her fingers fiddled with my trousers as I struggled to contain my laughter at how adorable she looked. Despite the air conditioning being on, her face was perspiring heavily, making it easy to discern her emotions. I couldn't resist the temptation and gently kissed her rosy cheeks. As she responded with a hum, Zane and I worked together to keep Blake pushed to the corner of our mind, preventing him from taking control.

" You are so cute, Sugar. Now, have your beauty sleep! " I said with a chuckle before picking up her top from the bed and putting it on her.

" What? " She asked, confused, looking at me with that adorable expression.

" You heard it right! Now sleep! " I said while taking her in my arms.

" Won't you do something? " She asked, getting out of my arms and sitting in front of me.

" What something? " I asked, knowing her question.

" Mating! " She said confidently, but her posture said something else.

" You want to do it? " I asked her, brushing her hair strands behind her ear.

" Yes! " She said with a nod.

" But I'm not interested now, so sleep, my love! " I said, turning around and lying on my stomach.

" Samuel! " She whined, sitting on my back as she grabbed a handful of my hair.

" Ow, woman, that hurts! " I exclaimed, trying to remove her hand from my hair.

" Then why are you being like this? I know everything, don't hide it from me! " She yelled, punching my back with her little fists, which still hurt.

" I'm not hiding, now move! " I said, while she sat silently on my back.

" I know you're in heat, " she mumbled quietly.

My heart skipped a beat as her words sank in. She knew. Somehow, she had discovered my primal urge, my instinctual desire. It was true; I was in heat. The intense need to mate was coursing through my veins, but I couldn't let it consume me. Not now, not with her.

I could feel her weight pressing down on my back as she sat there, her grip still entangled in my hair. Her words lingered in the air, cutting through the silence with a mix of frustration and vulnerability. She knew me better than anyone else, and I couldn't hide from her. The truth was right there, hanging in the air between us.
