I looked out the window and silently cursed the treacherous weather.

I had my outfit all planned out for tonight's party, thinking it would at least be a bit warmer.

I closed my window as another cool breeze blew through as if it was taunting me.

And to make things worse, I was already dressed and my make up was already done.

I was wearing a peach body con dress that conveniently had a polo neck. So that was good but the dress reached just above my knees so my freakishly long legs would definitely be cold tonight.

But on the other hand Cody's living room, even if it was large and open, would probably be warm with all the kids who would show up tonight.

I sucked in a deep breath. I wanted to say that I probably wouldn't run into Daniel but once again, we had the same friend group. So it was inevitable

I walked up to my dresser and opened the underside drawer where I had put the framed picture of Daniel and I that used to sit proudly atop the dresser before for anyone and everyone to see.

It was from one of his basketball games. They had won, of course. Ryan had scored the winning basket which didn't surprise me at all because Ryan had always been really good.

But while everyone was praising Ry, I had run up to Daniel to congratulate him because it had been his first game and he had been amazing.

But then again, he could have sucked and I would have still thought that he was amazing.

A kid from the school newspaper had rushed up to us just as I was hugging him and taken the perfect unexpected photograph of him lifting me and spinning me around.

Daniel had given me the photograph as a gift for our one month anniversary and I remember thinking what a perfect gift it had been. What a perfect boyfriend he had been.

"Yo, alleged big sister!" I heard Eddie's voice followed by the door slamming open.

He looked at me. "Uh - what are you doing?" He asked in a softer voice than I expected as his eyes landed on the photograph.

"Geez Eddie!" I yelled, quickly placing the frame back in the drawer and shutting it. "Don't you knock? I am a girl, you know!"

"Not with those feet." He muttered

I gasped.

The little -

"Anyway, my actual biological big sister is on the phone and for reasons beyond me, she wants to talk to you."

"Lena?" I asked in excitement.

"No, Michelle Obama." Eddie rolled his eyes.

"Gimmie!" I yelled as I jumped across the room and took the phone away from Eddie.

"Elena!" I exclaimed when I unmuted the mic and saw her face hidden behind a face mask.

"Maya!" She screamed.

I giggled.

"I'll be downstairs." Eddie grumbled as he turned around. "Don't go snooping around round my phone!" He yelled.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh please. Do you even have a life?"

I saw Eddie stop momentarily but then he just kept walking.

I frowned, feeling guilty. Did I say something wrong?

"Hey, pay attention to me!" Elena whined.

"Oh sorry." I spoke, turning my attention back to her.
