"Dazai. Quit dawdling. Walk faster." The blonde barked at Dazai, who was lagging behind. "Kay." With his hands behind his head, Dazai replied. [Y/n] rolled her eyes at Dazai's lackadaisical attitude. The group was walking down a street, surrounded by storage buildings. "We only have two minutes and fifteen seconds until the appointment!"
"That's concerning." Dazai says, in a bored tone. "Is it okay for me to tag along?" With uncertainty, Atsushi inquired. "This is part of your rookie training. This case involves solving a series of disappearances in Yokohama." "I don't see why not," [Y/n] reply, checking your watch again. "But we really need to hurry if we're going to make it on time."
"If I recall, it's the one where visitors to Yokohoma keep disappearing one after another, right?" Atsushi inquired, attempting to recall the specifics. "Yes, that's the one," replied [Y/n]. "We have an anonymous tip. The victims have been kidnapped and imprisoned in a certain location." Kunikida declared as he walked into a warehouse and descended the stairs to the basement. "An anonymous tip... How suspicious and wonderful." said Dazai with a grin.
"But we can't ignore it." [Y/n] followed Kunikida closely, her mind on alert, ready for any danger that might arise. "So we'll investigate that place?" "No. We will investigate the tip source first. As they reached the basement, they found themselves surrounded by machinery and electronics that ran from the floor. There were LCD panels, each emitting a pale blue light, and in the center is a large aquarium.
With his back to them, a boy was standing by the tank. He wore a light blue button-up under a thick, white knit sweater with the sleeves pushed up. Atsushi readied himself for a potential threat while [Y/N] scanned the area. "How's it going, informant?" Kunikida greeted and made a confident advance. "Hey, four-eyes. Are you being a slave to your notebook again?" A boy, who appeared to be in his early teens, reciprocated the greeting. "You're speaking like that to a detective agent when you're a hacker? If you're arrested, your deceased father will be rolling in his grave."
"Don't mention my father." The boy replied with a scowl before changing the subject. "More importantly, your late. Isn't that unusual for you? Why" Turning to face them, the young boy displayed his impressionable features, to Atsushi. He had short, cropped brown hair and brownish-gold eyes.
"Where you on a date with a beauty?" [Y/n] tried to hide her little grin by pressing her tips together before letting a chuckle out. "No! Dates should be with a chosen woman, followed by marriage six years later. That's what's written in this notebook." Atsushi looked at Kunikida with a puzzled expression and asked, "Huh? You have someone you've decided to marry?!" Kunikida replied, "I will in four years."
"Is he a newbie?" The boy turned to face Atsushi, his short brown hair bobbing. His curious, brownish-gold eyes narrowed. Atsushi stood up straight and replied. "I'm Nakajima Atsushi." The boy grinned, in return. "I'm Taguchi Rokuzou. I'm an informant. For the first price, I'll dig up dirt on anything." The boy's grin widens.
"And? Did you find out who's behind the anonymous tip?" In a serious tone, Kunikida questioned. "The Azure message." Rokuzou answered, shocking the blonde. "There was data left on their server. And pics of the kidnapped victims, I guess. The moles not an a enemy, though, is he?" Hunkering down in his office chair, he asked. "He told you where they're holed up and all."
"I wonder." Leaning over a monitor, Dazai began. "I hope we don't go there, just to find he's one of the kidnappers." [Y/n] couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as she scrolled through the images, wondering if they would be able to solve the case before anyone else was taken. But they had to confront the kidnapper face-to-face. "The Azure message...I want to keep looking into it." Kunikida said, with determination. "Sure, when i feel like it. I'm busy looking after my tropical fish."
