When Ranpo made his way to the door, Atsushi followed him with his eyes. "Super Deduction is so amazing. An ability that lets you see right to the heart of any case instantly." Ranpo took delight in receiving the compliments. "You're a role model for the agency, no, for all ability users." Atsushi couldn't help but feel envious of Ranpo's and wished he had a special power like that too. However, he knew that his own ability to transform into a powerful tiger was also useful in solving cases.

"Of course." Ranpo replied with a smile. He stood in deep thought before turning to [Y/n]. "Join me in this case, [Y/n]-chan. We hardly get a one together." His eyes sparkled with excitement as he extended his hand toward the woman. "I have a feeling this one will be quite intriguing."

"It would be my pleasure to assist you in this case, greatest detective in the world. " She bit back a smile. "Brat. Never mind the mess. Go with Ranpo-san. The place is close by train." The proposal made by Kunikida stunned Atsushi. "M-Me as a detective's assistant? That's a great responsibility." Atsushi couldn't believe that he was being given such an important role.

"Of course not. I'm not some two-bit detective. I don't need an assistant." Leaning his body against [Y/n]'s as they got ready to leave for the case, Ranpo asserted. "Then why am i going with you?" asked Atsushi. "Well, see, I don't know how to travel by train." Ranpo replied with a smirk. "Besides, three heads are better than one, especially when it comes to solving crimes."

With shock in his eyes, Atsushi's mouth hung wide. He couldn't believe that Ranpo, a renowned detective, didn't know how to travel by train. Nonetheless, he was relieved that [Y/n] was willing to join him and Ranpo in their investigation. As she walked to the agency's door, [Y/n] uttered while she was putting on her trench coat. "Let's go; we wouldn't want to waste any time."

The three soon arrive at the crime scene. The area is cordoned off with yellow tape, and police officers are gathered around a body lying on the ground, by the river. The three approach the officers to get more information about the victim and the circumstances surrounding their death. "You're late, agents." A man spoke with a gruff, masculine voice. "Oh, who are you? Where is Yasui-san?" asked Ranpo.

"I'm Minoura. I took over for Yasui. This case has been reassigned to our division." explained the man, Minoura. "So we no longer need you or your agency." [Y/n] raised an eyebrow at the man. "How foolish. All difficult cases in the world should obviously be overseen by a great detective." replied Ranpo enthusiastically.

"We won't need a detective today. Because the victim is my subordinate. Follow me." The group was directed by Minoura to the body that was hidden by a blue tarp. As Minoura started to peel the tarp off, [Y/n] kneeled down next to it. It was a woman with three obvious bullet wounds to the chest. The two gasped in shock at the sight of the woman's lifeless body.

"A lady." Ranpo laid his hat on his chest after removing it. "She was discovered floating in the river this morning." replied the police offer, visibly shaken by the discovery, while [Y/n] appeared unfazed and composed, as if she had seen such horrors' before. She calmly asked for more details about the woman's death, her sharp mind already piecing together clues.

"She was shot three times in the chest. We have no idea where or when she was killed. We haven't even found the bullets," replied Minoura. "Any suspects?" Ranpo inquired. "No," Minoura responded, "As far as anyone at the office knew, she wasn't in a relationship, either." Ranpo nodded thoughtfully and asked, "Does that mean you have no leads?"

"Which is exactly why we can't let some amateur private eye handle this." The man stated as he stood up. "Hey! The net caught something!" From above, by the crane, a man yelled. "We've strung a net across the river to catch any evidence," said the police officer. As the net was being reeled up, a man pointed out. "It's a man! There's a man in the net!"
