“Oi„ why is there a moving truck next door?” Niall called to his twin sister, pulling back the curtain and peering out the window.

“Maybe because someone’s moving in next door, dumbass,” she replied as she continued to apply mascara in the mirror. Niall rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at her, which she returned in the mirror.

“I knew

that. I meant, like, who’s it for?” he asked, letting the curtain fall as he stood up. He walked over to where Perrie was sitting at her vanity, now painting her lips a bright red with a tube of lipstick. Niall smirked as he crept up behind her and grabbed her shoulders from behind, jolting her and causing her to smear lipstick all across her pale cheek.

“You fucker! Get away!” she screeched, scowling at Niall as he cackled at her while she ran to the bathroom to wash it off. “Now I have to do it all over again, you wanker!”

“Sorry, Per, it sucks when you’re not as naturally gorgeous as me,” he said, giggling, and a washcloth came flying out of the bathroom door and connected with his face with wet

thwap.“Bitch.”

“Douche,” she replied.

“So who’s next door?” Niall asked again, placing the washcloth on Perrie’s vanity as she set off once again to do her makeup.

“I don’t know, but Mum wants us to go introduce ourselves. Apparently, they have a kid our age,”  Perrie said, finishing up her makeup then winking into the mirror, while Niall made exaggerated gagging noises behind her.

“Ugh, do we have to

now?”

Niall groaned.

“Yes,” she said. “We want them to

like

us, Niall. We want to use their pool during the summer, which we weren’t allowed to do with the last neighbors because you were such a terror.” Niall rolled his eyes at her. She always was the

good twin.

“Whatever, we weren’t even allowed to

speak

to them once you got caught making out with their son,” he countered.

“Yeah, because

you

told on me!” she said.

“Not my fault I could see his bed from our room,” Niall said, smirking to himself.

It was tough for the two of them to have to share a room, especially now that they were both seventeen and had had to deal with each other as they both went through puberty. Niall always joked that the reason he was gay was because he’d seen Perrie naked by mistake so many times and Perrie always sneered back that she could just run off and tell their mum about every one of his wet dreams. So, it had been a tough time growing up. For some ridiculous reason, when their brother Greg moved out to go to Uni a few years ago, their parents

still

refused to let one of them move into his now vacated room because they wanted to turn it into a guest room. Or Niall’s room when Perrie had Jesy, Jade, and Leigh-Anne over, and Perrie’s when Louis, Harry, and Liam came over.

“And besides,” their mother had said. “You’ll only get to live with each other for a couple more years. You’ll miss it one day, might as well cherish it while you can.”
