6 - "I'm straight-talking and rude"

I was late to the dance, which is not at all a surprise to me as I never really wanted to go to this dance in the first place but here I am standing outside the door trying to come up with any excuse as to why I didn't come; that way I could turn around and leave.

Coming up blank I open the door reluctantly to be met with a smiling Blondie stood at a small table.
"Silver I'm so glad you could make it" she greets me way to cheerfully for my liking.
"Blondie" I nod
"Blondie? Have you ever called me by my actual name?" She chuckles
"No" i state as I walk past her, I look around looking for either my sister or my team, I find my sister dancing with Sunny laughing and joking, seemingly flirting, I sigh feeling awkward "I think I've been here for long enough" I mutter to myself and I turn around to leave however I come face to face with Jaune
"Hi Silver, I didn't expect to see you here, you look" he pauses "really beautiful" I raise a brow surprised
"thanks I guess, you look nice" I add awkwardly, I huff
"What's up?"
"I didn't want to come, it doesn't matter, where's Schnee anyway?" I ask about the girl he wanted to bring since she wasn't near him
"Erm I didn't ask her again" he answers awkwardly, rubbing his neck
"Why?" I ask nosily
"I saw her asking Neptune" he admits
"Oh"
"Anyway what about you?"
"What about me?" I ask lazily
"Your date?" I laugh
"Don't have one, don't need one, don't want to be here" he chuckles, I look behind him and see Schnee sitting alone, strange, I look around the room trying to find Neptune, I spot him flirting with basically anything that moves "doesn't look like she came with him." I point between them. He goes to walk towards her as I see Phyrra who I know has a thing for the boy in front of me, I grab his arm to stop him in his path. He turns to me surprised "go talk to Phyrra she seems a bit down, seems like she's alone" he looks at Phyrra but asks
"What about Weiss?"
"Leave her to me, I'm not going to dance or anything so I might as well find something to do; though comforting a girl who was rejected does not sound fun at all but eh"
"But I......"
"Jaune don't be so naive, even I can tell Phyrra clearly likes you, it's so obvious" I roll my eyes
"Phyrra? likes me? that's ridiculous, I'm me and she's Phyrra"
"Shut up and go after her" I push him towards her and I take a deep breathe before heading towards the white haired heiress who is sorting out flowers.

"No matter how many times you pick those flowers up they won't stay up" I speak up from behind her
"Silver" I scratch my nose awkwardly as she acknowledges me
"So.......I here you asked Neptune to the dance but he said no" she looks up eyeing me
"Very subtle" I sit down and after a couple of minutes the heiress sits next to me, she groans, sighs and places her face in her hands "what's wrong with me? Why'd he say no? I know why, people always say I'm rude and bossy. That's the first thing Ruby said to me."

Wow I feel uncomfortable. She's opening up to me, why? she's all emotional, please let the ground swallow me.

I take a deep breathe before opening my mouth

"Look, I get it, people have always said I'm straight-talking and rude, so yeah." I cross my arms over my chest, I feel Schnee's eyes on me and I shift uncomfortably.

"Why do people think these things about us?"
"What?"
"I'm a realist, I don't want people to get there hopes up so I say it how it is, is that a bad thing?"
"I don't know, I'm the wrong person to ask I assure you, just ask my sister"

"Hey Weiss can we talk?" Neptune interrupts so I get up and begin to leave
"Silver!" I turn to face Schnee "thanks, I guess we're more alike than I thought" I nod and watch her leave.

Everyone in the room suddenly starts laughing I turn to see what's causing the commotion and see Jaune entering the hall wearing a dress. I cover my mouth as I laugh. Jaune pulls Phyrra close and they join Nora and Ren and perform a dance all together, I watch for a while but I soon get bored and head outside seeing Little Rose running towards the Communication tower in a big rush
"Little Rose!" I call looking around finding everyone in the hall distracted by the dance, i huff and quickly decide to run after her knowing my sister would be annoyed if I didn't. I catch up to her as she enters the building. "What are you doing?" I ask as I try to catch my breath, I need to exercise more
"Someone knocked out the guards she was running on the roof, I think I've seen her before, come on" she gestures me to follow but not before I summon my weapon with my scroll.
