Shelby tried to avoid Heather so she hid in her room hoping Heather wouldn't look for her, she wasn't ready to see her. The storm raged on mirroring the one within her, the only sound in the house was the wind howling and the branches hitting the windows from time to time.

The lights were still on for that Shelby was grateful, she had left everything in the living room when she fled, she dragged the half packed bag out from under the bed, the novel would have to do for now.

Shelby flipped through the pages not really seeing the words, her mind was elsewhere, after possibly an hour she threw the book across the room, she had no doubt it would be a good read on a great day but her day just kept getting worse. Why couldn't the storm just stop so Heather could leave?

"You okay?"

Shelby stared at her closed door with her heart in her throat, the thought of Heather leaning against it was too much for her frightened senses.

"I'm fine." She squeaked.

"You sure? I heard something drop."

Shelby sighed, "I threw a book, its fine really just go back to doing whatever you were doing."

"I wasn't doing anything, I wouldn't even know where to start."

Suddenly Shelby felt like a terrible host, she couldn't let her senses get the better of her. Heather was in her home and the storm wasn't going to stop anytime soon so the only thing she could do was suck it up.

She gave herself a little pep talk not surprised when she saw Heather leaning on the wall facing the door, Shelby gulped avoiding her curious eyes, shutting the door behind her softly, she waited for Heather to say something but she just stood there not once taking her eyes off her.

Shelby cleared her throat. "We can play some games, since the lights still on we can play some games on my console."

Heather's brow was raised in surprise. "You have a console?"

"I couldn't move back without something." She smiled sheepishly.

"Alright then, let's go so I can trash your ass in everything."

Shelby bustled with the thrill of the challenge. "You don't know what you're up against."

After about fifty straight losses Heather slammed the pad on the couch with a cute pout. "That's so not fair, my character was bigger."

Shelby giggled. "That's not how mortal kombat works sweets."

"How did you win every time?"

"I have had a lot of practice, we can play something else if you want." Shelby offered showing her the other games she had.

"Nah, I like this one better and I'll love it more when I beat you."

Shelby leaned back on the couch with a wide grin on her face, this was going to be fun. Heather had a concentrated look on her face as she gripped the pad, her tongue was even sticking out the side of her mouth a little.

"Ha! I won the first round." Heather smirked at Shelby throwing her hair over her shoulder.

Shelby smiled at her sassyness, she had been distracted before but she could stare at Heather when she beat her, so she won the next three rounds.

"I hate this game." Heather dropped the pad on the floor folding her hands in front of her.

Shelby laughed at how cute she was, she had never seen this side of Heather, she actually thought she would put up a fight when they started playing but she was worse than a beginner, she didn't even know who her character was when the game started until Shelby carefully explained, she obviously didn't get it but Shelby let her do her thing before knocking her character into the ground time after time.

"You're very mean." Heather puffed her cheeks. "I'm never playing this game ever again."

"You could just ask me to teach you my majestic ways."

Heather rolled her eyes. "Like I would ever, you're not that great you know."

"Says the woman who can't win one round."

Heather grabbed the pad from the ground mumbling lowly. "I'll make you eat your words."

"I should have definitely made a bet before this game started, I would be so rich right now." Shelby chuckled.

"We can still make the bet." Heather said.

Shelby shook her head. "You're never beating me, not in this life or the next. It won't be fair to you since I already know that fact, I'll feel like I'm taking advantage of you."

Heather turned so red Shelby was worried smoke would pour out from her ears. "I'm making that bet."

"I'll play handicapped then, I'll use only my left hand."

"I don't care." Heather hissed making Shelby fear for her life.

"You know we don't have to-"

Heather glare stopped Shelby mid-sentence. "Start the game."

"Okay okay."

Shelby played with only her left hand like she said prolonging the game for as long as she could also letting Heather get a few hits in so she wouldn't end up outside getting washed away by the storm with Heather standing on her porch flashing an evil smile.

The game ended the same way it always did.

"I hate you and I hate this game." Heather grumbled.

"I can play with my teeth next time."

"Not if you ever want to use them again."

Shelby moved away from Heather not sure if she would actually go through with her threat, she was scary when she was angry.

"Maybe I should get us some drinks while you cool off." Shelby backed away from Heather slowly, squealing when Heather reached for her, she ran into the kitchen with Heather right behind her. She ran as fast as her little legs could take her round the house laughing when she was lifted off her feet before she could run into her room.

"You might be able to outplay me but you can't outrun me shortie." Heather whispered in her ear.

Shelby shivered feeling Heather's breath caress her neck sending tingles throughout her body, Heather turned her so she could wrap her legs around her waist.

"I'm not that short." Shelby said quietly caressing Heather's jaw line.

"You're perfect."

Shelby's breath hitched when she heard those words, Heather was playing a game where Shelby had no advantage.

"Don't say that." Shelby closed her eyes in bliss, Heather was trailing kisses down her neck.

"I always speak the truth." Heather kissed by her jaw in between every word.

"You're killing me, these waters are unknown to me and I'm scared." Shelby admitted.

"I won't hurt you, trust me a little please." Heather kissed her then like she was glass, the kiss was slow and sweet. "I'll catch you I promise."

Shelby allowed her take her in every possible way on her bed falling twice as hard
