"It's a full house" Shelby smiled nervously at a ranch hand who she didn't know the name of, she hated crowds, always had.

She tended to drift towards dark unsuspecting corners before anyone could indulge her in conversations she had no interest in.

She managed to do that for forty minutes before she felt the impossibly hard to miss stare of Bran. Shelby cowered into the corner hoping he would forget about her but when he started walking towards her direction all Shelby wanted to do was dig a hole and hide.

"I see you're having a fun time." Bran said sarcastically.

"I believe I am, the shade from this beautiful barn and whispers from the wind have kept me company." Shelby smiled oh-so sweetly.

"I'm happy to hear such a depressing thing but you-" Bran grabbed her wrist before she could spring away. "-are going to socialize with your guests and teach some people a thing or two."

Shelby struggled in his vice hold as he dragged her out of her comfort zone and into the sun, Shelby hissed, dramatically shielding her eyes from the sun.

"Burn witch." Bran laughed softly.

Shelby secretly hoped she would so she could be spared from speaking to anyone.

"-she knows how to tame a wild horse."

Shelby tuned back into the conversation to see a crowd of at least ten children looking at her in awe. Christ.

"Ask her anything you wish to know at all about horses." Bran winked at Shelby speedily making his exit.

"Can horses swim?" One of the children who looked about four asked.

"Do they have horns?" Another asked.

"Can they fly?" And another

Shelby smiled tightly as questions kept flying left and right. They didn't expect answers so Shelby didn't try to answer them, after standing for an hour just smiling at funny and annoying children Shelby was ready to call it quits.

She grabbed the first ranch hand she could reach, the look of horror on her face almost made Shelby have pity on her poor soul but... She didn't, her face would haunt Shelby for the rest of her life.

Shelby tried to sneak back to her shade under the barn, turning right back when she saw Bran, if he saw her he would just make her talk to another group of people, the thought alone sent shudders through her body so she speed walked back the direction she came.

She weaved her way through the never ending groups of people, she didn't ever see herself as a small woman but she was being put to shame. Shelby put her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath after surviving, she raised her head and groaned, Bran was standing in front of her with a victorious smirk.

"I watched you try to escape, it was hilarious when the crowd actually swallowed you up." Bran laughed in her face.

Shelby was still gasping for air so there would be no comebacks from her just yet.

"Anyway, since you're in a good mood, there are a few people I would love you to meet." Shelby met Bran's devilish grin with a loud groan.

The cycle continued with Shelby trying her hardest to get away from Bran and Bran dragging her back into hell effortlessly.

Shelby stared at her watch impatiently waiting for the man in front of her to skip off to someone else to talk their ear off.

Children were everywhere, running, crying or screaming bloody murder. Shelby couldn't help but smile at the scene, kids had a way of making you forget your problems even if they left a mess behind.

Shelby thought she would need to drop dead for her unwanted conversation to end when she heard the voice that strung her up so tight and sent slight shivers through her body.

"I didn't know you could look more bored than when you listen to me talk on the phone about work."

The man threw her a nasty look before stomping away, Heather actually waved him goodbye.

"What are you doing here?"

Heather fake gasped feigning a hurt expression. "I heard you were throwing a party and I just had to come."

"If I knew this was your appropriate age group, I wouldn't have a held up an invitation." Shelby couldn't help but tease.

"Oh! no darling" Heather made a show of looking around. "I thought it was your fifth birthday, we've got all your short little friends running around."

Shelby slapped Heather on the arm pouting when she just laughed.

"Now come on, you know I was just joking." Heather cooed at the shorter woman.

"You're just so mean." Shelby whined.

"You're the one who wants to always trade words with me." Heather twirled the loose strands of Shelby's hair between her fingers.

"You never back down-"

"That's because I don't like to lose." Heather interjected.

Shelby rolled her eyes, "I'm so surprised, tell me something I don't already know."

"Bran is walking towards us."

Shelby's eyes widened before she mouthed the word 'run'

Heather didn't waste any time, dragging Shelby along with her she blended into the crowd, moving expertly like she had done it a thousand times before, she slipped into one of the barns with a giddy smile.

"Ta da"

"I'm impressed, if I knew you could do that, I would have personally escorted you here so I wouldn't need to go through that torture." Shelby smiled at Heather in gratitude.

"I knew I would be more than useful to you, that's why I came."

Shelby stared at the ground to hide her blush and traitorous eyes, "You were a great help."

It wasn't very long before they heard the slow drop of rain hitting the roof of the barn, then the rush of people struggling to find shelter before the rain slapped down on their skin.

Heather and Shelby made themselves comfortable in hay, laughing and sharing jokes like it was any normal day.

Shelby was grateful for the rain somewhat, everyone was gone but she was stuck in a barn with Heather. She didn't know which was the lesser evil.

Shelby blinked when Heather snapped her fingers in front of her face.

"I guess I lost you there for a minute, what were you thinking about?"

You "The fact that everyone is gone." Shelby laughed nervously biting her lip.

Heather's eyes darkened at the sight, "Don't bite your lip baby girl." Heather's sudden hoarse voice sent shivers straight to Shelby's core.

"Or what?" Shelby whispered.

She got an answer to her question when Heather kissed her, taking her lower lip into her mouth biting until she drew blood, to Shelby's utter horror all she could do was moan and whimper.

Heather soothed her bite with her tongue, Shelby moaned everytime Heather's tongue sneaked into her mouth.

Heather lost all control when Shelby spoke those words she never thought she would hear.

"I'm ready."
