Several weeks later

Everything was dark. Everything was always dark. It wasn't like a lead could take them to somewhere nice, sunny perhaps. It was always industrial, seemingly abandoned buildings. Vienna couldn't possibly be hiding somewhere nice like a villa or a fancy hotel.

Yelena grumbled quietly to herself as she held her gun close to her shoulder, sneaking round corners so no one could attack her by surprise. They had been searching for Vienna as a family since she had taken off back at the compound. At this point, part of Yelena wanted to leave her little sister alone. It wasn't like she was being held captive or anything, she had left on her own. It was probably best to let her come back to them on her own.

As she walked, Yelena heard a creak in the metal which made her freeze to the spot to listen closer. It could have been one of the others but she wasn't about to let her guard down.

"Privett Yelena," (hello Yelena) a familiar voice said in a darker, more deranged tone than she was used to, "Vy ne dolzhny khodit' v temnote. Vy mozhete postradat'." (you shouldn't be walking around in the dark. You could get hurt.)

Yelena didn't reply, she just whipped her head round trying to find where Vienna was but she couldn't see her. The room was empty.

"It's not professional," Vienna continued, seemingly from nowhere. Her voice was hard to place in the echoing room. "To have your family interfering with your work."

"We don't want to interfere," Yelena said slowly, turning to try and cover herself from all sides, "we wanted to know where you were. It's not kind to abandoned your family like that."

Vienna only laughed.

There was a sudden thud behind Yelena as Vienna dropped down from her hiding space in the ceiling. Yelena turned fast but Vienna was faster. She knocked the gun from Yelena's fingers, grabbing her by the wrist with one hand and holding one of her swords to Yelena's throat with the other.

"You've done nothing wrong," Vienna said softly, "I don't want to hurt you so please, just stay put."

With that, Vienna threw her sister across the room, slamming her into a wall. The impact left Yelena's head spinning a little as she tried to push herself back up. Yelena had thought they were more evenly matched than that, she clung to the hope that it was because Vienna had the jump on her.

"I'll deal with the others so don't worry about any of that, just get yourself out of here," Vienna told her as she sheathed her sword, "maybe I'll get to fight her, I wonder if I'll win. It'll be like a test or something, I'll get to see who's really better."

Vienna gave a slightly manic smile as she rounded the corner, out of sight of Yelena who was still trying to shake the concussion out of her head.

She knew Vienna was fine. It was like she could feel it. They didn't know anything about what she was like. Not anymore. With everything that had happened, dealing with things on her own seemed like an obvious trait she would have gained. Yelena felt as though she could have avoided a very humiliating concussion if they had simply left her alone.
